Not my video, https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=b13vuS7xrlo its being posted everywhere. As if this is cheating.
It's not. This is exactly what a potential battle against 2 very good teams would like like. Nova bombs and golden guns popping bubbles while strikers and blade dancers get in to some cqc and all the whole defender titans spawning bubbles.
Is this match 1 sided? Absolutely but because thier opponents are completely unprepared, not working together, not feeding each other orbs, they just can't hang.
So mad props to the guys that figured this out. Maybe, just maybe there will be some teamwork going on now in pvp a bit. When I see an enemy super I always super if I can use mine to shut theirs down.
If you think this is cheating or an exploit you are everything that is wrong with this community and probably suck or have no friends to do this with.
I cant wait to do this and to hopefully run into it so I can record some epic super battles.
Edit**
Deej is "looking into this" and if you agree that this should at least ride out to see how it's used in the future, at least for a short time, bump this thread.
Edit 2**
If you think this is cheating all I can say is listen to the first 20 seconds of this video https://m.youtube.com/?#/watch?v=urq9Lef_3T4
Edit 3**
Literally more than a dozen counters to this strat are listed below by random forumers. This is not hard to beat and takes 2 coordinated supers. Keeping it down takes more teamwork and without the lead this strat is useless. Get gud kids.
Edit 4**
Only way to nerf this is to nerf the titan in pvp. Let's not go there.
Edit5**
Apparently sunsingers feel left out of this strategy. If it helps create balance and define job roles simply let the sunsinger be the orb spawner and change the titan perk to generate orbs from kills inside the bubble vs just taking damage from the bubble.
Credit to whoever gave me that idea I'll find your name in a bit or pvt message me my bad
Edit**6
I heard they found a change, can anyone confirm ?

If this could be utilized in PVE on raids...damn
-
this is why people need to use mics and chat even if you're in a team of randoms. if the other team would have just sat back and forced them to come to them, then that strategy would not have been as successful. a titan with fists of havoc might have been able to bust that up but getting close enough to do that is a tall order. better if everyone on the other team just said "f this... we all need to sit back and make them come to us."
-
lol @ the 51 k/d and no love from the rng gods.
-
They say it in the video... They did this to show how flawed PvP is
-
I got so much hate for calling this team work on the other post. I was even told that if I called this team work then I did not know what team work was. Now to me this is the definition of team work
-
lol, this have been done on dedicated team for a while now...ever noticed the same guy using golden gun like 3-4 times a game and quickly one after the other? It's been done on smaller scale bc pvp in this game isn't all that competitive. You likely will never see it bc people join in randomly and just run around with their head up their ass.
-
I need all those gametags so I can back out of a lobby if they are in there ha ha
-
Awesome xD
-
Awesome
-
Aside from these kids sounding like complete tools what's happening here? Like how is this man orbs dropping?
-
This is coordinated teamwork at its finest. OP was right it looks unfair because the other team had no way to challenge their tactics. If Deej really is looking into it, Id say a fix should be nothing more extreme than having orbs in PVP despawn after a countdown. This was absolutely the way the game was intended to be played all the mechanics were put to their most efficient uses. I would hope this isn't the first time any bungie testers have seen this because we'd have a lot more problems.
-
If this was a TDM, I'd be fine with it, great freaking teamwork! Control match without controlling anything is mind boggling and broken as hell. Most folks play Control matches as if they are TDM anyway. Pugs, (players un-grouped), now these clowns will have reinforced belief that kills win control matches... Stupid! If this team had to cap, the story may have been much different, we'll never know until Bingie fixes the mechanics of Control to where teams need to cap too win, like it should be and as the intent of this game mode. Great freaking teamwork +1, game mode gets a fat -0! DEMONIZER PS4 League/Clan IAA International Armchair Army
-
I'm shocked that this is only being uncovered now, honestly. This was always a viable tactic...maybe a bit more so now that Obsidian Mind is a thing...but it could essentially have been done soon after launch and it wasn't. Surprising
-
time to ban all supers in PVE, lol. now bungie will spend countless hours deciding how this should be handled instead of fixing the real problems with the game. IT IS JUST GAME! get six players and do the same. complain about the real issues and not the random game you played against this random team. how many times will this actually happen? How about this, no more than two fireteam members allowed in PVE ter team......WTF
-
So stupid. Pvp will get a pointless update probably.
-
I seriously doubt this is the way Bungie expected PvP to be played. The maps are not designed to have a team sit in one spot and spawn infinite supers.
If you think this is cheating or an exploit you are everything that is wrong with this community and probably suck or have no friends to do this with.
This is an exploit. There is no way you can defend this as a legit strategy. It takes zero skill to have multiple Titans stand still and make bubbles and orbs while Hunters GG everyone.
-
This is why destiny PVP is unique. This is not cheating. This is teamwork at its best. What they did is not easy. Killing a warlock is mid nova will shut them down. Nova bombing a golden gunner from behind when they are powering up is an exhilarating experience. You can only guess how upset that player is. (Hahaha). To all the guardians with tears. So what if your on the other team. Play smarter. Regroup. Hide and shotgun them from behind. At the end of the match you will have the same chance for an exotic drop as the player with a 52 k/d ratio. Leave the lobby and then go back into crucible. You will be with other players.
-
This is cheap tactic. You shouldn't be able spawn that many orbs. Bungie needs to fix this asap.
-
It's not cheating, I agree, but it's also not awesome and just shows what is wrong with supers in PVP. At least, this bullshit tactic will finally lead to motes being removed from the Crucible. How is a super-only gun fight awesome? I play PVP to actually compete using SKILL, not to produce countless bubbles and one-shoot ppl all game. I hope they fix this "tactic" asap.
-
I love this strategy and find it really amusing that people call them cheaters :D
-
So I've watched the video in a mix of amazement and concern, and I've read many many comments and some discussions below. #1. This is something Bungie will have to take a look at. #2. However, I hope they decide to just let it play out, see what unfolds. #3. I would love to take part in a PvP battle wherein both teams were capable of this kind of synergy. Might be fun at first or it might suck. But I wanna see for myself.
-
If you aren't coordinating similar things in pve then you're doing it wrong. Most strikes are chain superable with the add waves getting hammered by novabombs/ sunsingers/golden guns and defenders using iron harvest + bubbles. I know the undying mind strike its possible to pretty much have chaining supers after the first couple of waves and I've done it in most other strikes (unless it was sniping the nexus then who cares?). We did the same thing in the first part of the crota raid with 2 voidwalkers using obsidian mind and a defender (Odin bless his soul) dropping safety bubbles while the sunsingers covered with aoe.
-
Wow that mechanic abuse

Edited by Blowsy1982: 2/3/2015 7:40:49 AMCan we stop and figure out exactly what they did please (I am a little slow). TEAM So, 5x defender titans: - Mixture of Blessing, Armour and Weapons of light - Gift of Light (force barrier melee kills create orbs) - Gift of the void (as force barrier takes damage it spawns orbs) - illuminated (increases benefit of blessing and weapons of light) ARMOUR Are there any armour items that encourage more orbs to be generated? If not I imagine a combination of glasshouse helms and saint 14 STRATEGY Titans pop bubbles and begin shooting and melee ing one another and the bubbles which encourages orbs to spawn. Keep an eye out for enemies who will stupidly shoot at bubbles to create even more orbs. Hunter does the rest I have I missed anything?
-
I'm all for teamwork, but obviously this is NOT how pvp should be played. I hope Bungie fixes this fast before it spreads.
-
Such a cheap tactic. Clearly something Bungie did not intended it to be.
