The point I'm making is that he shows great artistic talent. Do you think animators draw their own creations? You still have a lot to learn if you think showing technical skills isn't artistic talent. And you might want to start thinking about what practical applications your art skills will have in the professional world. I can tell you that more times than not, the disciplined and technically skilled will have good paying jobs, the "creative" ones will make really cool art in coffee.

  • Lol art is not a stable career at all. I'm going into mechanical engineering or maybe even chemical engineering.

  • I started drawing at a very early age and still do. I went to college for animation and have been doing it since. I will say that because of my drawing skills, I was a better animator than other students. I'm not saying that to brag. I'm stating the fact that because of the work I put into my drawing skills, it payed off and it continues to do so.

  • The video game you're playing called Destiny is a piece of art. The entire multi billion dollar industry is based around art. More power to you for heading towards engineering, but you do realize those are very technical professions right? Almost opposite of the creative industry.

  • Do you know how hard it is to get a job at these big corporations, though? At least in the art division. Art schools come to my high school all the time boasting about how they will have 1 or 2 students who worked on CoD. 1 or 2 out of what, 50,000? I never said its a low paying career. It's unstable. Not many jobs require artistic talent. I do art because it's fun. It's a hobby, not a career to me. But I'm still allowed to voice my opinion on this drawing. It's an open forum

  • I never said you weren't allowed to voice your opinion, I just disagreed with it. And saying "copying something shows no artistic talent" like its a fact is rude and untasteful. You're entitled to your opinion, but it's still an opinion. And you might see it as a hobby, but he might take it seriously. This thread isn't about you, it's about someone who took the initiative to spend hours on something they were passionate about and shared it with the community. Like I said, you're entitled to your opinion, but they are negative and toxic.

  • Not negative. Everybody here is calling me a douche, or wrong, or an idiot. I was defending my statement. Just as you're defending your statement that you disagree with me.

  • Come on man, "copying a picture shows no artistic talent" is very negative. It's definitely not a positive comment. How would you feel if I told you the piece of work you put up showed no artistic talent?
