artistic talent is based on creativity. Creativity is a skill separate from basic drawing skills or any other crafting skill. When you're told to draw a model in drawing class, they want you to understand how the model exists within the world around it and the ability to transfer it onto whatever canvas you're using. How it interacts with light, the shapes that make up the model, hand/eye coordination etc. These are not artistic skills but craftsmanship skills. To be creative is to be original in thinking and doing. To make something new. To look at something, bend the rules, and provide something that is completely unique.
