i recommend you to get a led tv, it doesn't need to be a samsung or an lg (stay away of the sony ones, those are the most expensive and for no real reason). There are some good led tvs that are only that, not smart tvs with apps. You can keep the plasma one just for watching movies or tv series. The best place to find a cheap one with good specs is on wal-mart. ~My two cents.
