Gjallarhorn is a beautiful rocket launcher, arguably the best, but I have found one thing to be very troubling with this weapon. I'm not sure whether this is deliberate or by accident, but I have noticed that this exotic rocket launcher inherits one of the key traits of its Void Damage counterpart, Truth. Yes, I have noticed that Gjallarhorn--despite the lack of this being explicitly stated on the weapon's skill trees--seems to possess the capabilities of a rocket launcher upgraded with Grenades and Horseshoes.

Grenades and Horseshoes is a double edged blade, as it can save you from wasting a rocket simply because you aimed slightly off, or it can detonate prematurely, sometimes resulting in a natural phenomena dubbed "noobsploding". I personally enjoy this perk on a one-explosion type rocket launcher, but Gjallarhorn is more than that. One of the things I value most about the Gjallarhorn is its capability to reliably hit targets from medium to long ranges. However, the biggest downfall of this gun is its inability to consistently hammer targets when taking these normally sound and successful shots while surrounded by enemies. I actually noticed this issue when I was attempting to solo Crota's End, more specifically the prelude to the Deathsinger encounter where players must disable shields by killing Shriekers while being swarmed by Thralls. I shouldered my trusty Gjallarhorn, knowing that the Shrieker was "already dead". Little did I know that Gjallarhorn's hidden perk would shine through. The end result was a noobsplosion so glorious that everything within a ten meter radius of me--including me--died. This is a problem. Gjallarhorn's upgrades say nothing about proximity detonation. In fact, this is part of the Wolfpack Rounds upgrade that makes the gun exotic, yet there isn't a peep about it. If this is going to remain on the weapon, please Bungie, please include it in the upgrade description. This would prevent new owners of Gjallarhorn from making the mistake of taking a potshot with it. Even better, Bungie, you could fix this, so that I don't kill myself in the act of trying to go for a last-ditch life-saver of a heavy ammo expenditure. No matter how much Rahool pities my enemies, I pity myself more because I know that I'm going to forget about this and wipe someday right as I'm about to beat the raid single handed.
