I've been getting the catapillar error frequently and on bungie's page discussing it, they say it happens when we can't maintain a connection on their matchmaking services.
Strange thing is, I'm playing alone. No fireteam, no crucible.

So I spoke to my ISPs tech support and after trying a few things we ended up changing out the modem with a different brand...and It worked. I played longer than I've ever had without error. So I suggest all of you who are having disconnect problems to contact your ISP about changing modems. Good luck!
