Also could the forerunners become a major role in halo again?

They've been a major role the entire franchise. It's what the plot centers around.

I know but I mean besides halo 4 do you think we will ever actually fight them in battles in game?

In game? No. Really the only Forerunner we'd be doing that with was the Ur-Didact, but he's been composed. Plus if we did, with current 26th century technology levels, we wouldn't be able to kill them.
