The formula for The Crux of Crota dropping in Hard Mode Scrota.
A few days ago their was discussion regarding if the Crux of Crota was indeed in Crota’s loot table, despite some people assuming it was glitched or bugged.
Before The Dark Below was released, Bungie discussed the new drop refinements, and how loot would work differently in Crota’s End. Bungie added the ability for Destiny to track the drops you’ve already had, as well as how long its been since you received a particular item.
With the Crux of Crota, they’re tracking who has the Glowhoo shader (a guaranteed drop from Crota on hard mode).
If it’s your very first time completing the raid, and you don’t own the shader yet, the Crux of Crota is not going to drop for you...

Drop Chance & How It Works
The Crux of Crota is obtained simply by completing Crota’s End on hard mode.
You do not need the Glowhoo shader equipped, but you do need to own it on one of your characters. If you’re completing hard mode, you most likely already have this shader, so you shouldn’t need to worry about this.
Following these steps will allow you to have the chance at the Crux of Crota, but it’s still not a guaranteed drop.

Today I was lucky I got the husk of the pit then I upgraded and my friends and I 3 men to hard mode crota's end. Completed but no drop for crux of crota I have all the shader long time ago. I even have the crota raid ship... disappointed

It's funny reading this two DLC's later... Where they said the same thing for House of Wolves and TTK. Cone E3 2016: "Loot is going to work differently in year 3, ... Less grinding ... The game will track what you have already ... (The fans are still buying it! We can just fix it in year 4.)"

1 ReplyEvery stop listening to these myths... i have done crota so many times that i have gotten everything at least once, i have got black hammer, abyssal, fang of ir yut, oversoul edict, word of crota, swordbreaker, hunger of crota, song of ir yut, all the warlock armour and the bond and the emblem, both shaders and the titan armor(dont own anymore), hunter armor(dont own anymore either) but i have not gotten the crux of crota, you dont go around telling lies... i have tried using the edolon ally, the husk of pit, using the shader glowhoo, cryptocraphic, chatterwhite, and i have tried even the vex mythoclast, i am a legit player and i have typed all these weapons and all the stuff i have and dont have anymore, my name is YFGL SiltyLeek0, if you dont believe me, you can talk to my friends, i have done this "crota's end" so many times, go look me up on the destiny tracker or the bungie page, i dont care about likes or dislikes or the comments or reply's so don't reply on this, i wont be visiting this post but i hope it gets to all you guys and you guys see this when the next people come to look this up. -LISTEN TO ME WHOEVER WANTS THE CRUX OF CROTA because all these guys and gals are all lying in thier ways of luckfully getting it and calling it the "Method"??? I already had my Eidilon Ally fully upgraded waiting on the crux. I'm currently working with my clan members to get whoever else the crux too. It took a good while and I don't raid as much as I'd like to but it popped up for me. If possible try to be the sword runner as well. I say to my collectors don't give up on it. My next quest is a mythoclast.

I do the crota raid for one single reason and thats to get the crux,(because its the only exotic i dont have)im guessing ive done the raid about a 100 times or more, ive even deleted a character and restarted it from scratch, still nothing. i have played with members who have gotten them multiples times, so something aint right. wish there was a fix for this.

I always dismantle my glowhoos because i think its fckugly. Ive gotten 8 cruxes total (last one last week). Glowhoo has nothing to do with it, big fat Myth

You dont need glohoo on to get it. Both me and my friend got it without it.
