If you're talking about oled tvs they weren't even on the market when I got this. They aren't perfect either. The blue pixels last I knew faded fast. Maybe they improved that now but they're super expensive. Any led tvs 99% of people have right now is an led lcd. Different back lighting, same monitor technology.

On a near future I bet on QDLED, but eventually after all this 4K image size push passes we will start to see panels with better color reproduction encompassing 90% or more of the Rec. 2020 gamut on the consumer market. The days of 8bit Rec.709 are counted after all.
