I always play on plasma- can't stand led (I see the difference in refresh rate.) I have a 50" GT30, what you are seeing is not IMAGE BURN, this is IMAGE RETENTION. Your ST is newer/better than mine- It will wash out. Gamed thousands of hours on my Panny S model, got some pretty good image retention-- all gone now.

  • You have lessened my fears. I sincerely hope you are right that this will eventually wash away. Just sucks I have to stop playing the game. Unless they fix the issue of course.

  • Or you could just not be neurotic as it's not permanent and I'm almost positive you can't see it execpt in color slides...

  • I wish that were the case. But it's noticeable in almost all content. Regular movie and tv viewing even. Of course colored slides show it very well.

  • Obvious question- you are not gaming with Vivid Mode are you? You should never use Vivid for anything. What is your gaming to TV ratio? If you are 80% gaming 20% TV/Movie this would not be sufficient to wash out the image retention. Personally I am gaming at least 90% of the time on mine but my roomie does not game- she is 100% movies/TV viewing - so it balances out.

Hmm, maybe you really did get a bum tv. I'd ask if it's still under warranty, but being an GT30 I'm guessing it's 3 years old.
