I had a dark elf cleric had my tranquility and defiant sets .
I think eq was bad before they stopped the camping and griefing
But as far as raids and quests
Most could be soloed and as far as difficulty
It was nowhere close
Even early raids like 40 man naxx
Or molten core
Where eye was a 3% drop rate but between
40 people
So chances of getting it were like winning the lottery

I started with a Human warrior, reached max level of 50. Then Kunark expansion came out (long before set armors were ever introduced) so I created an Iksar Necro -which is the one I stuck with. Raided Plane of Nature, 128 man raid. Not soloable until level cap reached level 90. Sleeper was a 64 man raid - with consequences. Much, much harder than anything on Ultima or AC. But, to each his own.
