I haven't seen very much talk about pulse rifles on youtube, or forums, other than them just being disregarding as joke weapons.
While I may not be a die hard pulse rifle user I decided to see for myself what about this sub class of primary weapons was rubbing people the wrong way.
I hope maybe what I discovered testing many different pulse rifles in pvp may actually be helpful in forming an idea on what should be done to make pulse rifles fun and rewarding to use.

I like my Oversoul Edict, and am leveling my red death, but I always feel like they just don't, in general, do the damage. I feel like every shot (not burst) should hit harder than an auto rifle of comprable impact.

Looks like pulse rifles are getting a slight base damage buff. Wish they would have also increased the magazine size a bit along with itat the very least.

Boost impact and stability

Bad juju does the same damage as a blue level Galahad. 27 It's exotic and seriously sucks. Suros does 36. Pulse rifles should all be buffed especially the bad juju (again I know)

They don't do enough damage to be viable, plain and simple.

I have not watched the video you libked but I agree there is still some tweeking to be done for the Pulse Rifles in this game. Just some background I use guns on my toons according to how Destiny was originally designed because it just fits me (Hunters with HC/Snipers, Warlock with ScoutRifle/FusionRifles, and Titans with Auto,Pulse/Shotguns). There is still a lot lacking from Pulse Rifles though idk if its perks or something else. Scout Rifles got fixed so they are more common but Pulse Rifles are still underwhelming

...the -blam-!ing range doe.

bump with some gamplay. Perks like range finder and hipfire are very good on pulse rifles, where they actually become as good as the other primary weapon classes. It should probably be by default they have better hipfire and range.

They just need a small buff. Personally I would love to see a across the board stability improvement and slight fire rate improvement. That should fix the problem with most pulse rifles.

They were better pre DLC with Strange Suspect and Bad Seed Down. The current ones suck.
