During last tour with the army it did not end well for me.. 2 weeks to go untill got turned home we went on mission, got ambushed late in the night... Air support was 20mins out. Took a bullet in the shoulder and the right upper leg. At the time it did not hurt that much (adrenaline rush) but when u realise for real what happend it kicks in.. Not even mentioning the surgery and rehabilitation..

Damn, sorry man. Was everyone able to get through that alright?

I lost 2 good friends that night, me and the combat medic came out alive. Both injured but able to go on. Part of me is happy to survive that black night, but as my teammates lost their lives a small part in me at first thought i had to go with them, crazy guilty feelings in time make room for anger and fear. After some time all those feelings go away and u take comfort in that u were there in your brothers final moments and take prode to tell their family and loved ones what great heroes they were and still are

I'm sorry man. They were definitely good people, my condolences to to their friends and families. They were heroes, and always will be. I appreciate what you guys do in the military, it's definitely not easy stuff.
