I have been extremely unlucky when it comes to weapons, so I have quite a few I'm forever hoping for. I don't mind strikes since it's something I usually do with at least my boyfriend or friend. It's a good way to coop without cutscenes and do bounties without waking the hive or listening to Omni's annoying screech. Plus... I can only do so many patrol missions. Heh. I am with you as far as the fighting, though. I usually follow the pace of everyone else, but when two people are playing the Strike through then majority should count for something. It's the biggest issue I have with matchmaking. The lack of communication makes the whole experience solo, which adds to the lack of teamwork. I have left a few strikes, usually for AFKers though. If someone's blowing past all the enemies and leaving me to deal with them then I go to orbit. All it takes is one shiny to get me behind enough to be stuck plowing through a bunch of aggro'd ADDs.

  • For me, I have pretty much never ever received a weapon I wanted from a strike. Its always raids, nightfalls, Xur, Faction Rep or Iron Banner. Everybody brings up that one time they got a legendary from a strike that turned into an exotic, that is definitely the exception, not the rule. I'd rather efficiently gain xp and glimmer (when needed). Why would you go to orbit if somebody's blasting past the enemies, why not follow them? Majority rules right :) I have eliminated patrol missions from my diet, I only perform the bounties that are quick hitters and can be stacked. All in all, if everybody has their own playstyle, the kill all ADDs person cannot complain when the efficient get it done player breezes through the strike and vice versa imo. If I cannot be upset with one that stays back and kills the adds, one cannot be upset if I fly past the ADDS and destroy the boss, completing the mission. We are all entitled to play the way we desire to play. Honestly I would prefer to have the option to solo the strikes, but for the most part, everybody I am matched with skips the random ADDs so i'm happy.

  • Majority rules is right, which is why I will usually plow through the enemies with them for the most part. When they are triple timing on a mission I want to lay back on I'd rather flip the orbit switch and look for a team that is more inclined to focus on the team, even if it's a simple question to make sure everyone's on the same page. The only time I orbit on a speeder is when they are ignoring the team completely. I've touched down with a guy on the Mars mission that jumped his speeder and flew through all enemies before I even got to the opening. Once we activated it (he skipped that) he went past everyone inside and then died on the outside to pull us forward. It wasn't even a matter of us killing everything. The person was just being a jerk. No sense in continuing with a lone wolf mentality. Again, I respect that there are different play styles. It's the simple lack of consideration involved when you go against the normal goal of a strike without any care as to whomever is around. It's not any one person's strike. So dying to pull people forward because they want everyone to follow their speed is a jerk move in my opinion. *shrugs* Luckily I've been paired with a decent group most of the time.

  • Yea, I think dying to pull people forward is inconsiderate, I don't do that. I would argue that killing adds is not the "normal goal" of a strike.... The goal is to kill the boss! The strike is not complete until the Boss is killed! Speeders are essentially fulfilling the "goal" of the strike as soon as possible! I don't get why add killers believe that killing adds is the way the strike is supposed to be played, if that were the case, there would be barriers in place, removed only after killing the adds.
