VoG weapons may get higher levels but only when a higher level VoG comes out. The same will go with the Crota weapons and the same will go for the Arena weapons when HoW comes out. This is how Destiny works and it makes sense.

No i dont want to play templar 20 times each dlc to get my fatebringer again, there must be a better way to upgrade the weapon you already have
