Efrideet's Spear is Overpowered
Rolled with the proper perks, I believe this rifle is a bit game breaking and should be nerfed. Certain perks shouldn't be allowed on sniper rifles (e.g. armor piercing rounds, final round). What do you guys think? I put together a montage of how ridiculous this weapon is.
***Update: I am more so asking for opinions on the perks (final round, armor piercing rounds) and wether you consider them overpowered or not on a sniper rifle. Efrideet's Spear is simply an excellent example of these perks due to the reforging option, small clip size, and massive impact.

2 RepliesI went on a 10 kill streak with patience and time. Would have got 15 but a hunter turned invis and snuck up on me. (Invisibility doesn't show up on radar)

I think it is fine. You are limited by kill speed having to reload and use rounds. Not a ton of people got the right roll.

You could make a highlight video that makes No Land Beyond look like the most OP gun ever. Also, it's kind of amusing how when I first posted about final round snipers in the first month of the game, people said they weren't practical, and now we've got people complaining they are OP. The only thing in I'd say is OP is AP going through infinite thickness, but that applies just as well to all sniper rifles.

17 RepliesI, along with many other people were grinding the iron banner to be able to get the weapons using a lot of glimmer we had to grind for. After we got the weapons we had to keep rolling them to get the damage type we wanted and good perks to go along with them by using a ton of motes of light we were previously grinding for. People always complain about "earning" things in Destiny and these are the most earned weapons in the game. If you nerf these a lot of people are gonna be pissed off. It's like being in a contest where they tell everyone the winner gets a million dollars so everyone works hard to win but after the contest is over and you have won they change the prize to 10,000. Is that fair?

It's my favorite sniper rifle in the game. And not for what it does in pvp with the right perks. It's just a badass sniper. All snipers can come with that final round perk too. LDR comes with AP rounds which enables shots through anything. And that isn't bad? The gun is fine, and not many people use snipers in pvp. It's probably one of the least used weapons types. Shotguns, fusion rifles and grenades are more of an annoyance.

That gun is a little more then just OP if you can reliably pull shots like that bullshit. Most those shots were I'd have to 2 hit and on top of that you didn't aim near people at all.

Efrideets isn't op, its the final round perk that's op. Hopng they nerf this but considering people may have spent hundreds of motes just to get that perfect roll, it might be a bit difficult.

I only use mine for pve.. but holy cow is it amazing when you get the perks you want. I've been using it in hard mode crota at least as much as the black hammer if not more

3 RepliesNeed this. Nerf that. Enough nerf threads already. Just because it is high impact doesn't break it. It has a slow rate of fire and a small mag. Yes, the mag can be re-rolled, but this thing is essentially a black hammer without the white nail. In PvP, it still takes 2 body shots to kill, so same as any other sniper.

Perfect stat roll. They gave me high calibre instead of AP. My second one got field scout and performance bonus. So thats pretty good too.

Anyone complaining about this needs to take one into the Crucible and try it out. Seriously the vendor LDR has AP It's not as easy as it looks, all the vids you see are highlight reels, meaning they just pick clips of good shots, if they had complete game vids you'd see a lot of missed shots mixed it. It makes for better clips than gameplay, trust me.

1 ReplyIt's pretty easy to avoid snipers on all the maps, so I wouldn't call any sniper OP in PvP. As soon as you notice you're in a round with someone using a sniper, avoid being out in the open.

4 RepliesThat rifle, or any other rifle with similar perks, is not op. The coding and obstacle detection in this game is amateurish and it is unbeliavable that a bug like that (shooting through walls) has made it live.

Armor piercing is okay. Final round is broken as fuc* though. Saw a doubles skirmish game on a stream that was nothing but both teams firing the first two bullets just to one shot the others. Beyond stupid.

Game Breaking?....... Sword Disappearing during Crota Encounter is game braking, a Sniper being a One-Shot kill isn't. Sniper ARE SUPPOSED to be a One-Shot. Don't like it then get out!

It's not op, every sniper rifle can get final round and armor piercing rounds. You also need more ammo because it can have as much if you're using armor piercing rounds. Plz stop asking for nerfs. This sniper rifle can be good for both pvp and pve. Not a big deal as the ldr the vanguard sells is good at both too.
