Here is some info on that in case it got burried by the forums.
This was discovered by a reddit user during a bug and was later removed off the forum but later reposted on major news sites, so its hardly new info, but Christmas noobs weren't aware they were being lied to by Bungie, so I just wanted to remind them that House of Wolves DLC is already on your Destiny Disk, it just doesn't have any enemies.

For accuracy purpose, These areas do exist and people were able to glitch into them, but their entrances may have been patched already? Also, about the levels in the screenshots. I am assuming the levels are lower, because this was meant to be released with the full game, but now the mission and strike levels will be 10 levels higher, so 32 instead 22 for example. These are not fake by the way.
P.S. The entire Destiny the Game is 40 GB total. Just FYI. The Expansion is 3 missions, 1 raid, 1 or 2 strikes, and 4+ pvp maps. That will be a very small download comparatively. So please if you choose to post criticism, make it constructive.

Every game has place holders for their dlc. You're a douche and you don't know what you're talking about. Whatever you've heard about house of wolves will change by the time it comes out. Maybe the armor they leaked will be the same but stats and perks. Story contact raids will change drastically.

Just because it's on the facking disc doesn't mean shit. If you did a little research you would know devs do this to save from people downloading 15gb every time there's an update or dlc. It's as simple as that Google if you don't believe. Gullible fools

Yes, boxes with words are already on the disk. I think there might be a few other things to download unless you think the DLC is text based.

They re-purposed some content they couldn't finish for DLC Even they have said clearly some of this unfinished content is already on Disk, but that unfinished content will get updated once the DLC / Patch goes out Why is it hard to believe there is lot of unfinished locked content on the original release, when so much of the unlocked content at release still has severe bugs/glitches etc? They aren't just flipping switch to unlock the DLCs. They have to try and polish it up first.

18 RepliesVery observant! Have a cookie. :) This is pretty old news, and I see no point in bringing it up again for the benefit of the "Christmas noobs". One of the reasons these areas are designed in advance and put in place early so that we don't have to download a multi-gig patch file every time DLC comes out. I don't know about you, but I'm not running on 50mbps fiber-optic internet. I run on Broadband 3mbps, and half the time it's glitchy or runs slower than it should. That's the only internet available to us currently, so I greatly appreciate not having to download a rather large file with each new DLC. As for whether this stuff was supposed to be in the game at launch or not, let it go man. There were countless, COUNTLESS threads about this crap already, and no one has said anything to deny or confirm anything. And people are still playing. You know why? The game ITSELF is fun. The controls are tight, the gunplay is top-notch, supers don't feel out of place, and playing with friends to overcome a common objective is a blast. So if you aren't happy with the game itself and feel the need to bring stuff like this up again in order to validate your displeasure with the game, perhaps it's time for you to find a new game to play. Just saying.

Honestly don't understand the reasons to keep bringing this up. I've played this since alpha simply because it is the most enjoyable game out there for ps4 period I could not give a damn about all of this coulda/shoulda/woulda nonsense. it's crying and whining to no end

36 RepliesI hate how people say it's on the disc, the only thing on the disc is access to Bungie's servers. Everything obviously isn't coded into Bungie's servers yet as you glitch into the areas and there are no enemies, the detail is low in some areas and the missions aren't there. What is on the Bungie server is the placeholder environment, when these are added to the Bungie server - if you paid for the DLC, you get the download to update to the new server rendition. Notice when we get small updates? They can throw parts of the DLC environments into those downloads so no one is the wiser, therefore filtering in the new material little by little into their server for use later on instead of having 1 large download, for those who paid for it, later on. But ya know, conspiracy theories are more exciting than the truth.

Holy crap will you please shut up about this...it's done..over..they got your money...the content wasn't on the disc completed..it was put there as a place holder so WHEN they finish it COMPLETELY they don't have to upload a massive file to our systems...they have clearly and concisely explained this multiple times so please just get over it already

I was under the impression just the basic game assets was all that was there on the disc...and they add to that from there to help from being slammed with massive updates...

Maybe it's because I didn't buy the game until November but I find it hard to care about this stuff. People lie to better themselves everyday this is nothing new. Bungie may or may not have mislead people with this stuff, however I still enjoy the game regardless so I see no reason to be some whiney pissy justin beiber generation spoilt brat about it I dunno, maybe if this is that much of an issue to people, they should go sell the game, leave the forums and enjoy life. Or is that too logical? :-/
