I just wanted to remind them that House of Wolves DLC is already on your Destiny Disk
Happy new Year and merry christmas to the noobs..
Here is some info on that in case it got burried by the forums.
This was discovered by a reddit user during a bug and was later removed off the forum but later reposted on major news sites, so its hardly new info, but Christmas noobs weren't aware they were being lied to by Bungie, so I just wanted to remind them that House of Wolves DLC is already on your Destiny Disk, it just doesn't have any enemies.

For accuracy purpose, These areas do exist and people were able to glitch into them, but their entrances may have been patched already? Also, about the levels in the screenshots. I am assuming the levels are lower, because this was meant to be released with the full game, but now the mission and strike levels will be 10 levels higher, so 32 instead 22 for example. These are not fake by the way.
P.S. The entire Destiny the Game is 40 GB total. Just FYI. The Expansion is 3 missions, 1 raid, 1 or 2 strikes, and 4+ pvp maps. That will be a very small download comparatively. So please if you choose to post criticism, make it constructive.

omg, there are still losers that care about this?? Dude, get a life/girl/hobby/friends/education or ANY number of things, and you will realize how unimportant this is.

Can anyone give any insight to game development? I'm obviously biased, but it seems level design is most of the work. If character models, guns, animations, and all mechanics are already developed, what is left for design in new content? Voice acting, all graphic interfaces for quests, a cutscene or two is all that is left no? Once a landscape is created, and once everything is already developed, its a matter of setting up triggers. For example, spawn point here, here and here. Enemies spawn when you cross this line. Dinklebot says this line when X happens. Setting up triggers seems like a straightforward task. Level creation on the other hand takes a huuuuuuge amount of time. All landscapes need to be created by hand by artists and take the most time. Think about it, every FPS game ever created does not run out of spawn points, it runs out of landscape. ANY HALO gameplay time could be doubled by adding twice the maps, and adding spawn points. Do you think anyone said 'Nooooo, larger maps would harm the game and upset the players."? Nope, it probably came down to development time didn't allow creation of larger maps. My point is, Bungie sold out to Activision with a huge contract. Unfortunately, the contract put the asinine requirement of all these DLCs for activision to suck us dry. Bungie scrambled to meet the contract by chopping off TDB and HoW and selling as DLC. Chopping off DLC created a huge disconnect to the story so the head writer left. Read the contract, Bonuses given to Bungie are based on playerbase, sales, and review scores. rather than making a great game, they are doing everything to meet the contract bonuses.

I wanna glitch up there is it possible?
-
Yep..That was thoughtful of Bungie. No waiting to DL lots of content. Hmmmm..What about the digital guardian version?
-
Lol everyone here still thinks that disc locked content is ok.
-
Just wanted to let you know how many -blam!-s I give
0
-
And I care why?
-
I thought all the idiots who believed the game was a conspiracy had left already. Clearly I was wrong
-
Oh geez... Not this again
-
The terminus the traitors ketch and the Kings watch has enemies you can fight and a like mini boss at the end
-
Bungie loves the word MONEY.
-
I didn't already know this wow thanks for this super new and fresh news
-
Hey! Look over there! It's all the f u c ks no one gives!
-
>it's all cutscenes So they pre-rendered each cutscene with every possible permutation of guardian, armour, weapon and ghost-shell? No wonder the install is so big.
-
*disc
-
They are a business, plus the size of the expansions affect its price. So putting geometry on the disk allows for smoother and faster downloads.
-
This practice has been going on for years...get over it or play a different game.
-
I'm still confused as to why people even care that the dlc is on the disk you can't use it so why bother? Unless everyone is still crying about "why should I pay for something I already bought"
-
I used to do concept art so have very much experience in the world of game design. The problem is a triple A title cost a shit ton of money to make. One like Destiny is no exception. Sadly there is most likely truth to the claims that both these expansions were already made. The basic story itself makes it obvious that the content was pulled. Sadly they have to sell the game for $60. Shooter fans won't pay a monthly fee like an MMO. Destiny is more shooter then MMO. And since no one will buy a $100 game the its split into the basic game and DLC packs. Sucks right? Well if it's COD or Battlefield no big deal. But Destiny is more MMO then competitive shooter. So we get a broken story and a 3 month time stamp on all our hard work and progress. Welcome to the new era of gaming.
-
Well, DLC means "Disc locked content", so... We should knew about what we are buying.
-
And here they come, rampant Desticles frothing at the mouth...
-
Destiny is fun, regardless of whatever shady practices there are. Is it the cool thing to hate Destiny?
-
To the people that think all of this dlc wasn't on the disc when launched, u are sheep and u are exactly who they target and why they get away with it. This all was supposed to be here on September 9th and dlc was supposed to be new content. Do some research and u will see how much of a stripped down game this is. Anyone who has done anything more then look at a few grimoire cards knows this
-
Nothing new. Beating a dead horse. The desticles will buy up anything destiny no matter what. So even though bungie is going down a shady path this game will be around for the next 10 years.

Edited by Volatile Shifty: 2/5/2015 2:20:49 AMAnyone who has played a Battlefield game knows what a real DLC download is. 2-4 GB prep download that comes a week or two before the DLC drops and then a 5-8 GB DLC download. I agree with you that the people who don't get this are the sheep that dirty companies like Activision feast on. Now I have no disillusions that Dice sold out with EA for the server capacity but at least someone in Stockholm had the nuts to leak emails to show EA pressured them into an early release and ridiculous contractual agreements for the sake of making money.

I just want to remind people that when you buy gasoline, it's actually 10% ethanol and 90% gas. They won't tell you that, and ethanol is cheaper but they charge you the price of gas for it anyways.
