Ever play the game "Myst"? The game were it took you hours and some people days to figure out the right order or pattern or to find a secret gadget that was required to open a door or to activate another gadget.
Why not turn Destiny into a large scale find it game. People complain that they're getting bored or that there's no challenge. Put something in the game that sends people on a hunt for random objects and find secret pathways that lead to a dead end, unless you found the right gizmo to unlock a door to a mysterious portal.
They somewhat did this in. The Vault of Glass. At first the chests were hidden is a few places that would take a little bit to find. Different pathways that lead to different parts of the raid. They even left a little lore at the end for people to search the grounds in hopes they killed Atheon the right way for a chest to appear or for that weird hate to unlock or that weird cave that seems to be in the far back of the room.
Take stuff like that and spread it throughout the worlds of Destiny, sending people on random goose chases that'll keep they're mind thinking if they did it right or were they missing a price of the puzzle.
