There multiple topics covering positioning and strategy, however I have yet to see a topic about exactly how much damage Crota takes before Enrage triggers.
With my group we were never in danger of the timed enrage but we did find ourselves in a position where we needed an extra hit or 2 after the 3rd sword to finish him off. While striving for 14 hits (ie, 4/3 + 4/3) is doable, with the time not being a factor we usually did a clean 6 RTs per sword.
After clearing the first wave of Ogres we thought it would be a good idea to use the 3rd sword for only 1-2 RT attacks so that 4th sword would trigger enrage first hit but have more than enough swings to down him. We ran out of time (early mornings) to fully test this.
Assuming you get 12 RTs before Ogres, it seems like 1-3 more trigger enrage (13-15 total for those bad at maths). If anyone can confirm exactly how much damage it takes it would definitely help us plan out exactly how much damage we need with the 3rd sword.
We also aimed to have Sword Super both breaks on the final sword. Just in case.
TL;DR - How many RTs can you do to set yourself up perfectly for the last sword. Assume you only use RT no Sword Super.

25% health = enrage

we had to down him 3x on the 4th sword during enrage it was insane

Why not just kill him with the second half of the 3rd sword? I mean 14-15 hits is only 2.5 swords, can't you just down him again and hit him 3 times to finish him off? wouldn't that be the same as waiting for the 4th sword?

Just do this every single time crota goes down you get 3 hits on him so per sword is 6 hits. It takes exactly 18 hits to rake out crota. When you hit him for the 15th time he will enrage but you do not focus on the oversoul and take him down asap (whole team uses rockets to take him down instantly) then sword bearer can hit him for the last 3 times
