Well it happened today, Xûr sold the Ice Breaker. After months of everyone bitching about wanting it and others bitching they earned it. The facts are straight, he sold it once before so it's really no big deal that he sold it again. I can say that I wanted it badly and was never lucky enough to have one drop. I have played since day one including the beta, I wasn't as deep into the game at the beginning and didn't know who Xûr was. I am now completely obsessed with Destiny and do more research on things then I'm willing to admit. It's been folklore this Ice Breaker, same as the Gallahorn. An old story told by the elders of when these weapons were not so legendary and sold by a peddler who came around every once in a while. Stories of my fathers baseball card collection haunted my childhood. He swears he had every Micky Mantle there was, Grandma threw them out one day. Gone forever, forever remembered. If you could walk down the street and buy them again, would you? Then you would have them, they would be yours. Sure they have value, but what are they worth to you. What if you cleaned out the attic and found a shoe box. Inside those cards, there yours, you found them! What are they worth, priceless you say! I bought an Ice Breaker today, I wish I had found it. I wish it meant something to me. I wish I had seen it drop! I wish it was special. It's not. It's good, it's great. This thing is sick! But it's not worth much to me. The experience of finding Xûr and giving him my coins didn't do anything for me. So I ask you Bungie, don't ruin the Gallahorn for me to. I have not been lucky enough to find my Gally yet. Let me find it, please. I can't resist buying it, so don't give me that chance.
Please let me discover what a drop like that feels like. My Gally, my Fatebringer and Hawkmoon are out there. Let me find them. I keep going to the attic. Nothing's been there so far, but i know when I find them it will be worth so much more.
Thanks for reading. Does anyone else feel this same way?
