So, I am NOT a PVP player, but I do love Hand Cannons, Scout Rifles, and Sniper Rifles, so when Iron Banner came to town this time I thought "What the hell, I would like to have that Hand Cannon, let the fun begin."
It was a positive experience overall. After consulting the internets for advice and capturing control points for several hours here is what I decided on (after a few rolls):
Timur's Lash: Outlaw, Field Scout, Feeding Frenzy (after reading that Outlaw and Feeding Frenzy stack, I thought that would be a great place to stop.)
Efrideet's Spear: Ambush, Performance bonus, Field Scout, Firefly (Once I got Ambush, Field Scout, and Firefly I knew it was time to stop, Performance bonus I hear doesn't trigger much, but the other 3 more than make up for 1 "throw away" perk.)
I was wondering if people thought this was as close to ideal as one with 35 remaining motes of light would hope for?
Also I acquired Silimar's Wrath, and was wondering if anyone thought it was worthwhile to even try for decent perks on that weapon? It came with Counterballance, Rangefinder, and Fitted Stock which some say are the ideal perks anyway, but if anyone has any other ideas I would love to hear them.
IMHO High RoF/Low Impact Auto Rifles and every non exotic pulse rifle in this game are of equal worth (and that value is near zero.) So I don't see myself using the weapon much anyway, but I do have plenty of Ascendant Materials anyway.
Here I become Verbose:
I thought that the Iron Banner was a lot of fun as a level 32 Guardian. A lot of the time I placed first or second even though I don't think I am very good at PVP in general. I learned the control maps and I enjoyed the limited variety. I totally get the problems with Blind Watch now (it really is terrible) and I can see why people who PVP often want more maps though. Hopefully the next Iron Banner will include some Dark Below maps as well. I really enjoyed Twilight Gap because of my LDR with Armor Piercing. It was amazing how many guardians I killed by shooting them through the mesh on point B. Other than that I grew to love Thorn even more and really envy Hunters. I honestly don't think that the bladedancer special or golden gun is overpowered, but I was amazed at how fast they would recharge. I wouldn't see them getting THAT many kills while I had gotten a few kills and captured some points, and they would be super charged 15-25 seconds before I could Nova Bomb. My only thought on balance (other than Blind Watch) is maybe the Nova Bomb needs to recharge just a bit faster, or hunter supers need to recharge just a bit slower. (I have maxed intellect for what it is worth, and assume they did as well, and I was running an energy drain build as well.)
Anyway, thanks for reading and I would love to hear feedback on my weapon rolls (or anything else.)
