My name is David and I am a pack rat.
TL;DR - I've finally decided to break down weapons I'm not actually using but been holding on to. It's tough.
Problem
Seriously, I am running out vault space for weapons and hate the idea of using my alt Warlock as a second storage space where I will need to change characters, vault and change back when I want some weapons.
I took a step back to list out all my weapons, their attack, note why I justified keeping each and separate based on regularly use, situational, fool around and never use.
I realized that I had 10 scout rifles including 2 Mida Multitools, one 300 and one 331. Wasteful.
We all come up with justifications for keeping weapons. "It may get buffed", "I worked hard leveling it up", "I don't want to have to switch characters to vault/pickup so need a duplicate", "I'm collecting exotics".
That's what hoarders do ;-)
Tough Decisions: Break down every 300 scout rifle except Vision of Confluence unless I use it in Crucible where perks matter and not attack max.
I'm collecting exotics even if I don't use them. However, I don't need duplicates, worse, old and new.
I barely use fusion rifles. Keep the exotics and 1 Murmur (instead of 1 per character).
I don't regularly use auto rifles. Only keep Atheon's Epilogue and Similar's Wrath (I'm considering buying Vanquisher from New Monarchy though smh).
I have way too many machine guns I never use. Break down all 300 not used.
Hopefully I'll be cured and I hope this helps other hoarders confront their problem as well ;-)
