If you grind out the Roc Strikes that give you Decoherent Engrams that turn into Strange Coins, you deserve Icebreaker.
If you stayed up until 3am to do Lvl 30 Weeklys on all of your characters, you deserve Icebreaker.
If RNGesus handed you an Icebreaker for doing a Roc Strike with a whopping total of 14 kills, or for whamming on Crota while he stares at the ground for an hour, or for turning in an Engram that you got by jumping into your pals Nightfall, you do not deserve Icebreaker.
I been here since Week 1.
Debate me.
I'm a masterdebater.
EDIT: Let me be clear: I don't hate people who obtain weapons or armor from Strikes, engrams, or Crucible. I hate people who are dicks to other people because they think that they're the ones who earned theirs more.
Fact: You both have one, so what's the point of whining about it?

Yeah, I agree with this post. BTW this made me wonder, wouldn't it be fair if Xur was a permanent vendor in the tower and he'd sell everything, just with different price tags. Like a G-Horn for 55 strange coins and 4th horseman and No Land Beyond for 1 strange coins , lolll.

Yeah, there's a differencing between earning a gun and finding one.
-
I mean, buying the gear literally means you earned it. Getting it as a random drop does not equal earning. That's just the way it is. Anyone that gets anything as a drop, that claims they "earned" it, does not understand RNG based games.
-
Actually, in some cases, getting a wild item is better than buying it from Xur. For example, the Obsidian Mind that my Warlock has been using for a few weeks now is better than the one you can buy from Xur this weekend. It has 20 more Intellect than Xur's and less Strength, and we all know that Intellect is a more useful stat than Strength. Of course, there are cases where you can get a wild one that has worse stats than Xur's, but in my case it's better. Also, I have 4 Icebreakers and just bought my fifth one because the one weekend that I didn't play was the only weekend that Xur had the Icebreaker upgrade. Now I at least have one Icebreaker 2.0 that I can share between my toons.

I agree with this post. People saying who bought icebreaker don't deserve it or didn't "earn it" its all BS. I have been here since day one and i regret missing out on it since xur started to come. I have been grinding and hoping he will sell it again. He never did until last night, i saw the forums filled with lies (to me atleast) and after saving coins i finally earned mine. Stayed loyal and waiting. For those of you getting it through what this post means RNG. They don't deserve it. Its pathetic how by luck you guys think you earned it. If i went 5-10 in the Crucible and finally got icebreaker did i earn it? No. Those kids who complain about having a gun by random drops compared to those who stay up late at night, hoping one day it'll come. They truly earned it.

2300 Grimoire score for me and no Icebreaker. Ive put in a lot of time as well. You can bet your ass im heading to the tower now to pick one up.. Probably gonna stop and do a dance along the way

100% correct

I always look at it this way: if I work at my job for a week doing boring repetitive stuff, when I get paid, I EARNED that. When I find $20 on the street while walking home, I enjoy it, but I didn't earn it. WHY DO PEOPLE THINK THIS WORKS IN REVERSE FOR DESTINY!?
-
I can agree with that. Aside from that I feel like you really only earn exotic bounty related weapons and very loosely raid related gear. I know it's random but you only get it for running the raids.

You definitely are a masterbater cause no chick is gonna touch you.
-
Huh I never thought of it this way. That's a great point though

If u have a item you have earned it however it was obtained. That's a easier way to put it :)
