Ok, good to know.
Ps: I understand what you’re saying though. It’s much faster taking them out from below, but:
1/ imo people can play any way they want to, just like you or me.
2/ I bet that when you got your first ‘good’ sniper you have also gone full retard with it just out of sheer happiness and you wanted to try it out.
3/ In a week’s time everybody will be used to their new IB and the retard behaviour will probably get a lot less.
Just let us newbie Icebreaker owners have our fun for a while. Think of it as adorable puppies playing with a brand new toy, we’ll get bored of it quickly ;-)
Lastly I would suggest you try finding a fixed group of people or clan with the same mindset/playstyle as you to avoid getting frustrated.
I have been matched with people that speedrun through the strikes like their lives depend on it and that’s actually my preferred playstyle and I do feel I enjoy it more that way. But I’ve also played with players that want to kill every last enemy and that’s also fine with me. I usually just adapt to the other player(s) playstyle since I don’t really care. As long as they’re not afk’ing or using the safe spots triggering wizards, captains, etc... I’m fine with it.

I just run strikes randomly. I don't actually do them for long, or often.. But when I do. D: And I don't care how they play as long as they're useful. If you're half a mile away sniping dregs, something needs to change.

Hey man, at least they are not afk’ing, they are still doing damage (that is if their aim is true) so in theory they’re still helping, albeit at a slower pace. I’ve done a strike with two players up their sniping a few weeks back and I hardly had to kill anything below because they were that good and fast, so it is in fact a viable strategy. And if I may play the Devil’ advocate here for a moment, I’ve read in another reply from you that you can easily solo the strike(s) so at worst the players sniping from up the rocks should only delay you for a few minutes, so it’s not a big deal right?

If I'm grinding strikes, a few extra minutes adds up. And I can.. It's just a strike.. But it goes much faster when teammates are actually being teammates.

You won’t change the player’s opinions or their playstyles by making a post here. But I guess you already figured that out by now. (It’s interesting to see how long you have been able to keep up and reply to all the posts. Quite a feat if you ask me!) Like I said before, sometimes you’re matchmade with random players that make it feel like you have been playing together for weeks and sail through every encounter on a breeze but also the opposite will be true. Just so you know, if you’re ever matched with me in that particular strike I will not be sniping from the rocks above, I’ll be too busy getting sniped in the back standing down below because I forgot about those damned Hobgoblins for the umpteenth time.
