Prepare yourself for the noobs sniping in ROC strikes with the icebreakers because they have it.
This isn't a nightfall. You don't have to stand on the rocks. The ones that are on the top of the area where the 3 waves of [b]vex[/b] spawn on the Archon Priest [b]strike[/b] when you're opening the door near the beginning. I understand you're JUST NOW getting an icebreaker, but please.. Just don't.
[spoiler]EDIT: Apparently this post was unclear to a few. I don't care if you have icebreaker, I don't care if you bought it, I don't care if you use it. However I do care if you sit at the back of the map sniping off goblins, getting essentially no kills leaving me to do 90% of the work. That's leeching off of me, and is not a play style. I think the icebreaker is great, and I use it for a few things.. But this isn't a nightfall. You're not going to die instantly, and you don't have to stand on that diagonal rock at the back of the 3 wave area on the Archon Priest strike about 1000 meters away, or whatever it is doing nothing for anyone.

EDIT 6: Now that this thread has gone on for a few days and it has played out to my amusement, I will inform everyone that this does slightly bother me, but it doesn't matter to me all that much and I felt like getting a rise out of some people. 1 ReplyWhether someone sits back and snipes or gets in to the thick of it, the outcome is all the same. The boss goes down, and then we sit back and pull the arm on the slot machine. The game's reward system being 100% RNG means there is zero reason for any player to put forth anything other than minimal effort. And that sucks, I agree with you there. THAT's perhaps where you should direct your forum rage. As to hanging back and sniping, I disagree with you that that is not play style. It's a strategy. From the rear position, a good sniper is taking care of Vandal snipers across the way. They also give Aksor something to focus on, leaving ground-based attacks pretty much wide open. Now, you want to go and get bent up over the asshats who just sit back and do NOTHING ... my rage dial goes to eleven.

6 RepliesLoved your post, just laughed harder and harder with each edit. And I can definitely see your frustration, it's like having your team quit in the beginning of the strike and you're stuck to do it alone until it gives you now teammates. Sucks.

1 ReplyI've always sniped that area, it comes from running the story mode at that location seriously under levelled. Habit I guess and from up there I guarantee I get just as many kills as you. As for the actual archon some one sniping him while others deal with adds is an effective tactic.

7 RepliesI think it was just a timed release. Months and no IB then its released a week before hard mode with solar weakness? I think its more geared to vets that may not have bought the first line, not really noobs.

I kept my IB maxed at 300.. Just to show I'm OG and not a Christmas noob.

I almost use it consistenly in everything except the Raid, Nightfalls and Weeklies. I do pretty good with it but I dont play it like a Sniper, I play it like a Scout Rifle. Key to success.

Hey man, maybe it isn't your play style, but to others it is. I've gotten the Ice Breaker waaaaay back, still hasn't change my play style though. Like you, I like to run around and shoot, not just stay back. My Ice Breaker, I upgraded it to 302, I never bothered to level it up anymore. I use it as an Special Weapon Ammo Regenerator. But you know, since those people who has Ice Breaker staying in the back, I kinda agree with you. Staying in the back means they'll shoot Archon Priest with consistent damage. And you, the one who's running around, dealing with all the mobs and Archon Priest.

We always have 1 person with a sniper up on that rock to deal with bothersome adds. Mainly the vandal snipers and other annoying creatures. Don't really get why that's an issue.
