Prepare yourself for the noobs sniping in ROC strikes with the icebreakers because they have it.
This isn't a nightfall. You don't have to stand on the rocks. The ones that are on the top of the area where the 3 waves of [b]vex[/b] spawn on the Archon Priest [b]strike[/b] when you're opening the door near the beginning. I understand you're JUST NOW getting an icebreaker, but please.. Just don't.
[spoiler]EDIT: Apparently this post was unclear to a few. I don't care if you have icebreaker, I don't care if you bought it, I don't care if you use it. However I do care if you sit at the back of the map sniping off goblins, getting essentially no kills leaving me to do 90% of the work. That's leeching off of me, and is not a play style. I think the icebreaker is great, and I use it for a few things.. But this isn't a nightfall. You're not going to die instantly, and you don't have to stand on that diagonal rock at the back of the 3 wave area on the Archon Priest strike about 1000 meters away, or whatever it is doing nothing for anyone.

EDIT 6: Now that this thread has gone on for a few days and it has played out to my amusement, I will inform everyone that this does slightly bother me, but it doesn't matter to me all that much and I felt like getting a rise out of some people. 5 RepliesDude I hear ya... But running roc strikes is a great way to level up a gun if you've done all your bounties. It won't last, they'll get bored with it and go back trying to melee everything in no time ;)

5 RepliesI don't give a damn how my fireteam plays as long as we finish the strike efficiently. They could be sniping from the rocks or from 10 feet away. As long as he dies I'm good.

I snipe from up top all day long. The practice help my aim improve when shooting at moving targets.

I think sniping parts like that are ok, if they also have a scout to continue dps. A long range style is a viable one. You just need to keep dps up with scouts. I play that way sometimes.

Eh, I've had ib for a long, long time and I like sitting on those rocks and picking things off. I tend to get more kills that way.

2 RepliesHad Icebreaker for a couple months, only equip it when needed, ie night falls, tank on valus, portions of VoG... but you should practice with it, ROC strikes are a good spot to do so.

All I did when I got it was stay back and snipe for a while, it was great to use a weapon I've been wanting for so long - of course I'm going to use it, and especially how a sniper is supposed to be used. If you're trying to rush or on a time crunch, I'd suggest doing something like crucible instead.

5 RepliesAfter reading all of your edits... I will play how I want to play, and if you dont like it... Well if you dont like it... Who effing cares? Who are you anyway? Oh that is right... Nobody!! I normally run up and auto rifle everything.. But after acquiring the Icebreaker, I do set back occasionally and snipe things for practice.. Granted they have to be more than a normal mob.. something that benefits from a one shot snipe... But I really dont care about your opinion.. Why did I respond? I have 40 min left at work and am bored... So I decided to go read some idiocy on the forums!

I would have to disagree with you on this one. I say play the game how you want to play. Don't expect randoms to play it like you do. On a side note I've had an Icebreaker for a little over a month and I never use it on this strike. I was using a Longbow Syn. w/void for the Vex portion but got a LDR/void last week so I've been using it. Void damage snipers eat those minotaurs up. When I get to the Archon Priest I switch to P&T. Just easier to pickup ammo than it is to wait for the ammo to build back up.
