Rockstar released an update on Jan. 13 stating that the release date for the PC version of GTAV has changed. It has moved from January 27 to March 24. What does this mean? That heists are also delayed. They stated that heists will be released after the PC version of the game is released. Their excuse? The usual. They wanted to "polish the game" to make it "the best it could be." I told people this would happen. They've been doing it for the past year and (almost) a half.
First it was a few weeks after GTAO released.
Then it was late 2013.
Then it was early 2014.
Then it was summer 2014.
Then it was fall 2014.
Then it was "the first title update after next gen release" (which was nov. 17 iirc).
Then it was early 2015.
Now it's sometime past march (which could still be considered early 2015, but they still changed it (again))
I have been telling people this for the past year: Rockstar is going to suck every penny they can out of GTAV before they release heists. If they release heists, then cash card sales will plummet due to the increase in player income. Cash cards are the only secondary source of income for GTAV, so why would they give that up? My advice? Don't buy cash cards. Rockstar is showing blatant disregard for their GTA playerbase all in the name of money. It's quite pathetic to be honest, especially considering its the best selling game in history. They broke even with GTAV just on PRE-ORDERS. Everything after that was icing on the cake.
UPDATE: Upon further reading of the article, it states that heists will release alongside PC, but only for PC. Heists for consoles will release in the following weeks. It's pretty hilarious considering the game is complete for consoles, yet PC (which is supposedly still in the works) is getting them first.

This guy is a joke Have you played destiny?
-
Think about it would you rather get a half assed shitty game on planed release date or a polished great game a while later I'd choose the latter
-
-blam!- heists. I've totally given up on online for that game. I can give maybe an hour or two a day to the game therefore it would take me several weeks just to have money to buy a fast car. Then several more weeks of doing races just to upgrade my car. At which point there is DLC and even more content I would want to buy and therefore several more weeks before I get anything. And I refuse to ever buy a shark card.. Honestly, using real money to buy fake money is absurd. So I stick to the story mode and play the stock market just right for a week and have a billion dollars and do everything I want in story mode that I can't do in online unless I give even more money to Rockstar. The way these game companies go about things to make money instead of delivering on the best gaming experience possible is making me realize how much I'm beginning to dislike gaming..

They will be a feature on GTA 6 or maybe they won't be ready.
-
Half-Life 3 will release before Heists.
-
"Ayy lmao" -Rockstar
-
Half life 3 will release before hiests
-
The release trailer did say "early 2015"
-
The real heist was pulled off by Rockstar. By the time heists are around the game will be gathering dust on my shelf.
-
I'm honestly not even surprised at this point.
-
dude... use the stock market. it's the only way you need to make money in single player since gto uses sp money.
-
God I know right, tired of waiting!!
-
If you guys want a game with bank heists just get Payday. Better game anyways imo
-
Battlefield came out with Heists before GTA did
-
I use to say "GTA will get Heists when Payday 2 gets updated on consoles. Well, a few weeks later the updated landed. A few more weeks after that they had the GTA trailer. Of course now looks like the pattern is repeating. Will have another consul update for Payday 2 and heists for GTA in a year.

Edited by Recon Number 54: 1/16/2015 7:15:14 PMI'm pretty sure you misread the article. Think of the phrase "ahead of schedule". This means the item will be coming out sooner than previously though. Obviously, Heists aren't coming out early, but you don't seem to understand what "ahead" means. Good job riling #Gaming though. Just shows how many people actually read and comprehend the article.

They're waiting for a group of players to take the initiative and do a heist of Rockstar HQ irl to release it. Then they figure with the added publicity they'd get, sales would skyrocket. Hmmmm... uh, you know I'm kidding, right? This has conspiracy charges all over it.... So, yeah, don't do drugs, kids!

Shocker...
sarcasm intensifies
-
Get use too it
-
Oh... another 'Heist' thread? Yay.
-
I bet GTA 6 will be out before heists, lol.
-
Yeah, it sucks that Rockstar didn't deliver on their promise. But I don't believe for a second it's easy for them just to throw heists in. This isn't me defending them, but it's me understanding why they had to keep delaying.
-
Until I see a source confirming it was delayed with PC release, git gud scrub.
-
Actually, GTA for pc got delayed and heists will launch alongside it for the pc. We're still getting heists on console this month
