Or are people just looking at them the wrong way?
They make more sense to me if you just think of them as just another weapon, instead of a secondary special weapon. As tho they should be automatically weaker.
Thoughts?

A big problem with special weapons in general is that there's an over abundance of special ammo your most used weapon in PVP should be your primary. Period. I also feel like fusion rifle range is a little dumb at times.

I have stepped from fusion rifles, to shotguns, to snipers and what I learned was this - Fusion rifles have a lot of range if aimed correctly and are cheap as f-ck, shotguns require getting close and learning to be mobile... Which is actually really easy in destiny, and snipers will require skill.. If they do not have insane fire rates like the VoG sniper (I know the name but can't spell) and have good exploits one of which is the armor piercing rounds which allow you to shoot through certain barriers which people do not know. Knowing all of this I have switched to snipers mostly (it's more fun) but if I want to punish people then I switch to shotguns I will never use a fusion rifle not even the Vex. But many others will stay with what they know

They are not broken. I think they are good and have a use. If you play pvp, you need to expect certain weapons to be insanely powerful.

Fusion rifles and shotguns are basically the only weapons that kill me.

I think they work perfectly fine when they do the job vaporizing anything in their path. Light of the Abyss holy hell yeaaas
