So I was making char cloth ( what you use to catch sparks to make a fire ) by putting cotton in to a metal altoids can and putting the can in a fire. Went to pick said can up out of the fire with a gloved hand, dropped it and instinctively caught it with my bare hand. The burn itself wasn't the most painful part. I was in the middle of nowhere so the only thing I could do was put burn gel on it and wrap it up. Went to sleep with it wrapped up and woke up with my hand so pruney it looked like I had my hand in water for a week.
