I have had the pleasure of receiving two exotic weapon bounties thus far. I've had the game since launch and have done countless bounties, but only two exotic bounties have been gifted to me. I'm not trying to complain, though, I fully appreciate both, but it would be nice if they dropped a LITTLE more frequently. Anyway, the first bounty I chose was for Invective. I completed this bounty easily enough and I enjoyed doing it. I'm just not a big shotgun user, even in PVP. I'm still glad to have it, because if a badass shotgun is necessary, I can now oblige. The second bounty I chose was for Thorn. I was really enjoying this bounty and everything was going swimmingly...that is, until I had to kill Xyor the Unwed. Now I know there are many of you who have probably soloed that part of the bounty, and for that accomplishment I commend your skill and effort. Who knows, maybe if I had strategized more, maybe if I had slightly better weapons, (and significantly more skill ;)), I could've soloed it as well. But it was the decision to NOT solo it that delivered an awesome experience in this great game that I have poured many...many hours of my life into since it's launch. I'm not "The Legend Himself"...that is...you won't catch me two/three manning the Vault, and you won't catch me soloing Crota's End. In fact, I haven't even completed Crota's End yet because I wanted to get my Titan to level 30 before even trying it. I've only completed the Vault of Glass once. So when it came to the Summoning Pits in it's "Very Hard" iteration, I needed help. So I went to DestinyTracker.com and threw a post out there to see if anyone might be stuck in the same spot in the bounty. Maybe we could team up and complete it together. But if not, why would anyone jump into my game when there is essentially no reward in it for them? Well, I was pleasantly surprised when shortly after my post, two awesome guardians sent me friend requests and were more than happy to help my cause. I want to give them credit here: many thanks to KG_Uchiha and AshtonAnchors, without the two of you, I would still be Thorn-less, which would be a tragedy in itself. KG_Uchiha (29 - Hunter) jumped in immediately and began laying waste to all manner of Hive Knights, Wizards, Acolytes and Thralls. Then, shortly after, AshtonAnchors (28 - Hunter) jumped in and did the same. Both of these admirable warriors did this despite gaining next to nothing. My suspicion is that they enjoyed helping a fellow Guardian in need. This experience is my favorite among many greats that I've had in this amazing game. I thoroughly enjoyed my one successful Vault run. (My other runs were cut short due to time constraints on my end) I've also enjoyed many a nightfall, all with great Guardians by my side. To pay back their kindness, I will seek out other Guardians who need assistance to complete the more difficult tasks in the game, and offer my Titan's Fist of Havoc or Ward of Dawn as the situation necessitates. I have no doubt that there are countless stories such as this that are taking place every day in Destiny. Feel free to share them. The next time you see someone in need of assistance, take a page out of KG_Uchiha and AshtonAnchors' book. Their kindness is spreading.
