Of course they have no idea what day it is, but they sure like the trip. Unfortunately, it means that they think that every car ride is such a trip and they really freak out when I pull up to a bank window because they think it's the "french fry store".

My dog does that with the coffee shop, since they like to give him Timbits. Drive up to an ATM drive thru and he's foaming at the mouth

I live near a dog food factory, my dogs are often tortured while outside by wonderful (in their minds) smells, as are the neighboring dogs

Not at all. I adore how easily thrilled they are and how they show their enthusiasm without holding back. Getting all of the nose prints cleaned off of the interior glass in a pain in the ass. But totally worth it.
