Hey Flood, Offtopic, Desticles, or whatever. I have something to get off my mind. I've been feeling quite depressed lately, a few things happened that changed my life dramatically. "So what are you doing on bnet?" you ask, well I was just seeing if I could get a few good laughs. And I'm writing this here because writing is my hobby, it makes me feel better when times are bad.
So anyway, it was friday night when it happened.
I just came back from a long vacation at Thailand with my wife and our plane was landing at the airport.
Everything was good up until this point.
I was still on the plane when my brother called me saying "Work call" and kept on repeating the phrase.
My brother has minor mental disorders so he often talks in unfinished sentences that are very vague, but over 20 years of living with him I've gotten quite used to it.
My wife asked,
"What was that about?"
I just told her it was one of them stupid telemarketers.
But I still had no clue of what was happening, all I could assume was that one of my superiors from my work tried to contact me. I knew it must have been a few hours ago that he called since the only time my phone was off was during the flight.
When I got home my brother was there to greet me as always, but that day all he said was,
"You done", "you done"
I just thougt to myself,
"Oh what the hell"
Since my brother always likes to tease me, I just disregarded him.
I got changed and all comfortable and checked the call logs on my home phone (it's one of those fancy digital home phones) when I was quite surprised to see it was none other than my boss that had called.
So I dialed his number.
When he finally answered I tried to act as chill as I could.
"Hey Dave, how you doing?", I said.
But his only response was,
"Sorry, I'm no boss of yours."
And hung up.
Thinking back, I was really shocked when it happened.
I was fully aware of my situation, yet it all seemed so unreal.
But I knew it couldn't be a joke.
I just had mixed emotions that I couldn't quite explain.
And all the while I was nervous out of my mind.
The thing that scared me the most was that, I had a wife and a retarded brother to feed, and this job I had was the only thing I did for a tough living.
I didn't hesitate, I got on a cab and left for "work".
It was around 6pm so I figured my "boss" would still be there cleaning up his office, taking care of his emails and such.
It didn't take me long to get there.
My office was a mid-size company but it had it's own building and such that was an above average size.
When I finally got to the 3rd floor I found myself just staring at the door to my boss's room.
It took me a little while before I straightened up and knocked on the door.
My boss opened the door, but he didn't seem happy to see me there.
All he said was, "I don't think we have anything to talk about."
I tried to talk to him but he wouldn't listen, he wouldn't even glance.
I was ignored as if I wasn't even there.
Then I started yelling and such and he couldn't take it anymore.
"Get out now or I don't have much of a choice." he said.
I was in no mood to leave so I yelled at his face until the security guards came to drag me out of the building.
His last words were, "I've requested a cab for you, but that's the last thing you'll be getting from me."
And with that, needless to say I was dragged out of the building.
I was lost, I needed a job and I had a family to support.
I was angry, I could've seen it coming but I didn't suspect a thing.
And I was sad, I had to leave the place I worked at for 7 years.
Then the cab pulled up.
The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought "Nah, forget it" - "Yo homes to Bel Air"
I pulled up to my house about 7 or 8
And I yelled to the cabbie "Yo homes smell ya later"
I looked at my kingdom
I was finally there
To sit on my throne, as the Prince of Bel Air
