"You cannot shake the feeling that this is less a weapon than a doorway..."
I cannot shake that feeling. I've always been fascinated with secret loot in video games, loot that is so rare that it truly is like an elusive treasure begging to be found. There are other things in destiny put in secretly in such a manner that I can't get over the Pocket Infinity's lore. I believe it actually is less a weapon than a doorway, I believe it can be used to activate dormant vex gates in the vault. One step of the bounty requires you to kill a vex GATE LORD with a heroic modifier active. The mind fluid of the Gate lord is "the key to it's dying secret."
There is no way this is coincidence. If Pocket Infinity doesn't open a gate in the vault, then I believe it was originally intended to, but the idea was scrapped. Either way, I think Pocket Infinity is supposed to be a doorway like it's description says. Also to speculate, the description for the Monte Carlo is something like "There will always be paths to tread and methods to try. Roll with it."
Edit: I have found out some other interesting things. The meaning of Mythoclast I was told is "Breaker of Myths", which is intriguing. Also have been finding more and more fishy spots in the vault that could be chest locations requiring a trigger. Will update if anything is found.

I <3 pocket infinity, favorite exotic. It'd be even better if it had an actual backstory.

Go to where the wall glows after you kill Atheon. Then go to the faction that shares the pocket infinities symbol
-
Nothing is more elusive then the T6 treasure goblin pack.

Super good advice was also kabrs machine gun I beleive maybe that also ties in ?
-
Hey OP. Have you tried firing the pocket infinity into the vex portals? It doesn't rapid fire but it is still full auto.
-
I agree there has to be some hidden meaning behind the Pocket Infinity. The sights on the weapon may have some meaning also. Perhaps the asymmetrical lines, angles and points line up with something in-game.
-
"You cannot shake the feeling that no weapon or armor flavor text has any deeper meaning..."
-
Theory: what if you start up vault of glass and open the door to the vault and then go back to where you killed the gate lord? Orrrrr what if you left a fire team member back at the endless steps when you kill atheon??
-
Many of them had different ways of being found. Thorn was supposed to be in Charlemagne's Vault...another Warmind. BadJuJu given by Toland after doing a certain feat. A small little thing that's been kind of intriguing me is that lone rock having light shined on it..when you enter Trial of Kabr. I'm guessing it was supposed to have either Kabr or one of his teammates laying on it.

This migjt sound stupid but what if u get all the bounty weapons with vog like desriptions and vex and have whole fireteam run those same weapons. Kinda like piecing the keys together? Idk. I read a lot of this stuff ppl post and am too interested since i love the VoG. I really hope someone finds something new

Very interesting, i like your moxy kid.

Or it's saying that a doorway is more of a weapon than Pocket Infinity...
-
The symbol for the pocket infinity perk is found on the rasputin grimoire card, and said symbol is found on the anamoly map on the moon in pvp. My guess is that PI itself is a Golden age weapon, created by the same people or secret company who may have built Rasputin.

Has anyone ever destroyed all of the oracles during their intial tune to show u their locations? I know u can damage them, but they disappear so fast, it would literally take a coordinated team all focused on 1 oracle a piece. I assume you would have to use a fusion rifle or a rocket launcher(something with high dps, without critical hit) because they disappear fsst. I've seen and heard of people killing 1, but never all of them. Idk but I've always wondered about this.

Needs more to it... what are you proposing you need to do? People have tried to activate Vex Gates with Pocket Infinity before... there must be something else to this?
