I formally submit.
If you are actually able to get kills with these things then you're a better player than me.
I just cant do it, the recoil is ridiculous.
Went thru all that effort to get thorn and didnt flinch now i feel sick at the thought of having to use it to lvl it up its just that bad at the moment.
And the bullshit amount of effort it takes to lvl exotic weapons will take me ages just to get the added stability let alone the 'thorns".
*sigh* rant over i spose..

Edited by CaVeMOnkeY17: 1/9/2015 8:54:27 AMYou should be happy all the use you are going to get out of it while lvling it up will give you experience using the thorn and by the time you get perfect balance you won't even want to use it because you will be much better of using send it and getting that extra range and less damage drop off.

Just got red hand, -blam!-ing amazing.

If I don't like a vanilla exotic... 1.Use your "usual weapons to build up a stack of bounties - preferably better paying out bounties. 2. Return to tower. 3. Activate the relevant weapon telemetry 4. Change weapon round to the relevant exotic 5.Hand in all the bounties. You should suddenly find the weapon will have jumped some way in leveling up. It isn't a perfect system as ultimately you will have to get used to the weapon. But you'll probably find that at least one of the perks will make your life easier. For example, I did this with Atheon's Epilogue as the recoil is unbelieveably savage (or I'm just a crap player - your choice), but once I reached the perfect balance perk it came with, the gun became a dangerous beast!

Love hand cannons. Been using the devil you know for a long time, can't wait to do my thorn bounty this weekend. Or at least start it lol hate PvP
-
I'd reccomend trying other hand-cannons before you give up on them altogether. If that still does not suit you, then I wouldnt worry about it. Personally I think the game is better with as much variety in weapons as possible. I say pick your favorite type that you are most comfortable with and stick with it unless something changes your mind. Im a Fatebringer/Thorn/Hawkmoon user myself, but I also enjoy my Vision of Confluence, Shadow Price, and even my crappy Doctor Nope when the mood strikes me. Battle fiercely my friend. Kree!
-
The initial struggle is well worth the effort at the end of the road my friend!
-
hand cannons is always my goto primary weapon. fatebringer is da bomb
-
Just stick with it my guardian brother. A couple of tries with it and you will have it down. I've just got thorn as well and I love it
-
Tbh thorn is bad before the dot perk. Just swap it between characters and equip it any time you turn in a bounty and it will level pretty quick
-
In the time it takes you to lvl it up you'll get better at using it. Thorn is a great hand cannon and honestly with the right touch it's easy to use.

Edited by Argonaut101: 1/9/2015 8:35:10 AMHand Cannons only for me. I want to kill enemy with as few hits as possible . Hand Canons are 1 shot kills on most things. Plus I fully upgraded Thorn in 2 days using telemetrys and now it rips everyone a new one . Especially in Crucible
-
I don't know how people use other guns. Handcannon and scouts almost exclusively for me
-
I only use my thorn for pve. I can't use hand cannons at all in the crucible, that's what my vex is for.
-
Do every vanguard+Eris bounties available, but don't hand em' up until you've completed everything Equip thorn, pop in hand cannon telemetry -hand over all bounties at the same time. -get thorn leveled max on 2 days/2characters.
-
I feel the same for auto rifles! I can aim them fine but they feel like a spud gun in comparison :-P I like the kick from hand cannons
-
use it in pve and do the bounties until your used to it the recoil isnt that bad it looks worse i put my reticle to heads height and fire once it drops it isually goes back where it went from and fire again
-
Thorn is sooo worth it. Just get the nightfall xp gain and grind out some roc's. You'll love it soon...
-
All I use are Hand Cannon's. Practice like -blam!- with them and you'll never look back.
-
I LOVE hand cannons....take your time, make every shot count, and you will get the hang of it.
