When I first got mine, I thought the same way, minus the melted butter. Now though, while the slow firing ones do pack more of a punch, I like the fast pace movement, low recoil and the higher ROF. The impact is lower, but it doesn't feel low enough to consider the MIDA anything less than great. It is not too often that I really notice a large difference on the amount of rounds it takes to bring down enemies.
However, though, if I need something with more of a punch for when I am around a ton of majors, I usually just go to a hand cannon.
