I've explained it numerous times in many other threads. Little kids wanting the game to stagnate instead of progress. Yay, stupidity!

How is adding more options stagnating? If Bungie's loot designers do a good job it will create more diversity, rather than making everyone with the level cap wear the same gear every time a dlc comes out

Edited by Beliquo: 1/8/2015 12:01:04 AMRehashing old content is stagnation. The diversity in content you want is if they released 2 or 3 raids at once, not just keeping people running the same tored content for even longer. The armor might would be different (since there'd be VoG and CE armor being worn) but let's face it, everyone already prefers 300atk VoG weapons because they are better itemized. If you make them 331, and even higher when new content comes, no one would use CE primaries. As it stands, the only weapon diversity you'd have is secondaries and heavies. And even then, not really. You'd use Black Hammer if not Ice Breaker, and GHorn if not HoC or Corrective Measure. That's it.

So the issue lies in the quality of the new loot being created?
-
Slightly. It also lies in the quality of the original loot, it was too well done. In order for new loot to be viable, you have to basically just constantly one-up the previous tier. Example: Gjallarhorn. The sheer damage it does compared to EVERY other heavy is silly. It shouldn't have been introduced in Tier 1 of exotics, it should have been brought in after 2 or 3 expansions. In order to make something more effective, you'd have to make a new launcher that is even more beastly (which is really hard) or let it die off and become obsolete due to how low its ATTACK stat is compared to others (which takes 2 whole tiers to do).

Edited by EvilAcrid: 1/7/2015 10:09:15 PMHow would keeping ORIGINAL content relevant in an EXPANSION be a bad idea. Pretty sure that the whole concept of an expansion is to ADD content not remove it Yay stupidity!!

Stagnation vs. Progression. The content will get stale (it'll be the exact same just higher level). And the gear is already preferable to CE weapons. It is so well itemized that even now its beyter without the higher damage cap, no one woukd use anything else. Using VoC or Fatebringer for 6 or 9 or 12 months because they are THE best weapons and keep getting upgraded is silliness. It'd get old. That's just bad business.

Edited by EvilAcrid: 1/7/2015 10:46:21 PMI agree with you on some point and not so much on others. Destiny is SUPPOSED to be a game that you play your way (clearly that isn't true). Instead of being provided other/better options we are FORCED to change to a less desirable (to our play style) alternative. I mean if it want 6-8 months in with several DLC's having been released then I can see not reworking the first raid.... But it isn't. It's not even close. The game is already repetitive veterans already know and have come to accept that. So ask yourself what would be more harmful to the game. Running the risk of made a repetitive game slightly more repetitive or removing content from an already bare bones game
-
If you want a game that is a REAL MMO (since this game isn't...period) that you can "play your way" and isn't bare bones, then you should try a PC game. WoW, for example, has tons and tons of content to let you focus on what you want. Hell, it's already reached Destiny's goal of 10 years (which it will never, ever reach) and is continuing in strong. Hell, relating to WoW, they have loads of old content that is completely irrelevant to max level characters. The Tempest Keep raid offers nothing to anyone beyond transmog gear or nostalgia, and that's fine. It's how games progress. Old gear and content dies off to be replaced by the new. It's how Destiny is, and should be. Get over it.
-
And I'm not disagreeing with that. All I'm saying is with this little content they shouldn't already be making this irrelevant. If there were more content then you wouldn't hear a word of of complaint from me but that's just not the case. There is so little content that they are taking away from why we do have. Am all for progression but there needs to be something there to progress first
-
They need to worry about fixing the exploits and shortcuts of CE over bringing VoG up tp date. Regardless of whether they upgrade VoG or not, there will be complaints. Either "Zomg, update it, we dont have enough content" or "Gosh, you expect us to grind VoG for even longer!? We want new content!" They are damned either way.
