Pretty easy fight. Takes about three minutes to do legit, kill two witches, kill two shriekers, kill a witch, done. Fight a hundred knights and off to kill crota. Are the people going around this fight, who aren't willing to invest three minutes, worthy of raid rewards?
EDIT: know what the worst part is? People won't even tell new raiders what's going on. They aren't explaining they are cheesing they aren't explaining how to do the fight legit. Then PPL get mad that no one knows how to do it. If we aren't teaching the new guys what to do how can we be mad at them for not knowing?
Edit: If you guys put as much effort into actually raiding as you do defending your shady actions this would be a non-issue
Hey guys check out this guide written by NEWNS for doing the crota raid legit https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/90285570/0/0 If you have trouble just try this! No need to cheese

Did it last night, what are you talking about? ;)
-
It is sad, but it's Bungie's fault. You would think they would learn their lesson after the Confluxes from Atheon, but they did not. They should have made it where you can't access the next part until you have completed the previous checkpoint. That means everyone has to do Deathsinger and we have only a fraction of people cheesing Crota because they can't even get to him. Simple and effective.
-
Yeah, it is actually faster than going to the tower and everyone switching characters.
-
Vog has confluxes which are more time consuming and annoying than this fight.
-
did it legit 1 time, killed witch, and still died to her thing after she was dead.. after that i said never again
-
When I did it first, I thought we were gonna fight him legit and we got to Crota and their like, CHEESE. I'm sitting on top of a door, like what?
-
If I had a group that wanted to run it legit I would without hesitation. The first night the raid released I was with randoms from the forums and helped them figure out how to do the bridge and beat the deathsinger easy peasy. Mind you it was pretty hard going being measly level 30s but we were keeping up with ign so that's something.

Edited by Rayon Nightwind: 1/7/2015 4:08:30 PMThis reminds me of the first part of the conflux fight in VOG, no one wanted to do it. Always people saving a CP to get right to the next part. And for the same reason. Both fights offer no loot. CE: Part one lamp run: One random spawning chest + reward at end. Part two bridge: Reward at end. Part three shriekers hall: Chest at end if you are quick to get it. Part four Deathsinger: No reward Part five Crota: Reward at end. People, a good part of the time, will take the fastest way to the end. A lot of people want to get the loot and go. Right now I have two of my Warlocks sitting at the start of shrieker hall, one right at her fight. More then likely I will join a friend that has Crota CP and get them all at that spot. The odds of finding a group to run Deathsinger, cheese or no cheese, is less then finding the CP past it. For me it is at least. I'm not sure why they made the raid loot the way it is. Be it the smaller loot pool when compared to VOG or just the new loot system they say is in place. I think they just toned down the Material drop rate. But giving her no loot made her a "waist of time" in a lot of peoples eyes. I don't think it is time needing to be spent but worth of that time. Playing legit is in the eyes of the player.

Deathsinger is super easy. But she gives no rewards. So I will continue to skip her till she does
-
There is no reason to do the Deathsinger because it doesn't give any rewards
-
Seems like people don't know this but after killing the death singer instead of waiting and killing a bunch of guys all you have to do is gather around the green crystal and it will advance you to Crota fight
-
I think it's stupid the deathsinger doesn't give any rewards. At least some energies or shards
-
You think you're sooooo cool.
-
Didn't even know you could cheese her
-
Why are they "worthless" I have done the raid legit a few times but why continue doing it legit if I can cheese the crap out of it on 3 characters and have done with it?
-
I agree it is easy. The longest part is killing the mobs afterwards, which takes so long. For what ever reason, Bungie thought it would be a good idea to have them keep spawning.
-
Ds is easy. If you have 2 good players + 4 decent, you can get it done in a run or 2 3rd straight week I got it done as the lone guardian 😄
-
It probably takes longer to leave, load a character with the Crota checkpoint, everyone join, change character back than it does to beat it.
-
Easy , but their reason is legit.... No reward we know of so far.... But I'm still thinking there is . But it might be a myth like the vog final chest to keep you playing
-
I've beaten the raid legit 5 times. But when I switch characters to run it again.......well it's more efficient.
-
Didn't even know how to do this part cuz we would always grab someone with the checkpoint. Def no point if there's no reward. Glad I learned how to do it though for hard raid. Pretty straight forward and simple
-
Beat it with two people. I could probably solo it if I tried
-
In my case, I know how to do Deathsinger, and I've got no problem killing her. That said, I can understand why people would skip her, since she doesn't drop any loot. Stop worrying about how other people play the game. What you're doing is the equivalent to getting pissed at the guy in front of you at Subway for not ordering the same type of sandwich as you.

I don't get the death singer fight. I have done it like a dozen times. I think the whole fight is glitched. Is it really intended for us to ignore the knights an just draw out the wizard, kill the shrieker, get on top of a door frame and nuke the boss? Then after the boss is dead, we are intended to run out and kill mobs for 5 minutes waiting for the checkpoint? If you kill the mobs as you are working your way to the death singer, they just respawn. Is that intended? I wish bungie would start patching things because I don't think it is.
-
You seem pretty eloquent. Maybe if you could share convincing reasons why they should invest time into a fight on a video game that grants them no reward they'll stop skipping it. Can you start with me?
-
Edited by Smith5084: 1/7/2015 3:43:49 PMI have beaten it multiple times, and I'm not saying that it should be skipped, but with the CP not dropping any loot, Bungie had to know this would happen... The Deathsinger isn't really hard, but once you have beaten the raid a few times, at that point, its nothing more than a grind for gear... That's it. Period. End of story. They made a sub-par, half assed raid and then, to keep people playing it even though it sucks, they introduced gear that can only be leveled up with materials obtained from inside of the raid... This was bound to happen... They purposely made this into an unnecessary grind, and people are navigating the grind in the most efficient way possible by skipping the areas that don't give anything for the effort...
