Pretty easy fight. Takes about three minutes to do legit, kill two witches, kill two shriekers, kill a witch, done. Fight a hundred knights and off to kill crota. Are the people going around this fight, who aren't willing to invest three minutes, worthy of raid rewards?
EDIT: know what the worst part is? People won't even tell new raiders what's going on. They aren't explaining they are cheesing they aren't explaining how to do the fight legit. Then PPL get mad that no one knows how to do it. If we aren't teaching the new guys what to do how can we be mad at them for not knowing?
Edit: If you guys put as much effort into actually raiding as you do defending your shady actions this would be a non-issue
Hey guys check out this guide written by NEWNS for doing the crota raid legit https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/90285570/0/0 If you have trouble just try this! No need to cheese
-
my fireteam has it down now, we can do it pretty easy. Granted we now have 3 or more level 32s each run, but it wasnt that hard before I dont think people should be able to share checkpoints, if you havent done the previous checkpoints, it shouldnt let you do it (might be a bit harsh but why should people not good enough to get through the raid have the same gear as me?)
-
Thanks for the guide, imma read it cuz honestly i kinda do feel ashamed that i have never beaten crota legitly
-
Honestly I think the deathsinger is harder then crota himself lol Crota is pretty easy and you don't have to care about the Knights etc when u run down in the long room where you start
-
Im convinced 90+% of people who play CE don't even know who the Deathsinger is.
-
I almost killed her solo, no gjally :(
-
Its easier solo for me than it is with a group. Due to someone always shooting the two knights with swords in front of you the second you leave the room. (For those that don't know shooting these two knights triggers death-singers song to prepare for the countdown.

Edited by Circadian Wolf: 1/8/2015 5:26:29 PMI've done the deathsinger before so I know how to do it but the problem is because no-one knows how to do it no-one wants to so I usually just skip it. On top of that, it really just isn't worth the time and ammo synths
-
I'm surprised Bungie didn't learn their lesson after the VoG. If a checkpoint won't dish out rewards players will skip to the next checkpoint. That's what happened in VoG and that's what's going to happen in CE. Instead of a chance for gauntlets after the lamps and a chance for boots or chest after the bridge they should have moved one of those to the Deathsinger fight. They should have set it up for a change at gauntlets after lamps, chance for boots after bridge, chance for chest after Deqthsinger and chance at helm after Crota. Makes the most sense to me, and it ensures no checkpoint is skipped.
-
they need to fix the checkpoint there, my team killed her 3 times out of 7 of those 3 times we got killed by the swordbearers and restarted. Bungie needs to put in the checkpoint immediately after you kill her, also no rewards.
-
No, they dont deserve it. When hard mode comes out no one will be prepared... so many knights..so..many..knights...
-
Boohoo.
-
I agree. The Deathsinger part is an extremely easy portion of the raid. It, of course, becomes much more difficult with an uncoordinated team though, as much of CE does (considering it was modeled on flawless team work and perfect timing).
-
I would have to say to the op, yes we are worthy of the endgame loot with one stipulation. That is, you have to have completed the raid COMPLETELY legit (also have been the sword bearer on crota, that shit is nerve racking), to which I have done it all :) I enjoy the fact that if I must, I can cheese solo all the way to crota which gives me the ability to get loot when I can't get my group together. You really can't blame anyone but bungie for being sloppy (come on, you can simply jump on a platform in the back room to despawn thrall for the bridge, no warlock needed or jumping to ridiculous places for them to despawn), that's not even exploiting the map or mechanics, just exploiting laziness. BTW we stayed up all night, 6:30am, beating crota legit the first time, but then again we were within the first 700 guardians to do it. BUNGIE- Your game would be 200% more challenging and fun if you couldn't exploit/cheese 100% of your games PvE maps and mechanics including every mission, strike, raid. But of course I'll keep playing :)
-
This is like the Gatekeeper minus one fact: NO drops. Why bother. When they fix it or add the drops, I'll worry about it. Waste of ammo.
-
I've run Croats end multiple times each week and have yet to hear of this blasphemy. What are the basics to which you speak of here? I was unable to see any other comments about how this is done.
-
3 go up left - 3 go right where boomers are during crota 1 person get's the witch out each side and helps kill the witch kill shriekers and then deathsinger with both fireteams on each side 3 and 3 what's so hard about that? I don't understand some people.... use rocket launchers on shrieker and deathsinger. you can post up on the ledge's (little frames on the doors) on top to avoid melee's ...

Edited by TommyTwoStoned: 1/7/2015 11:51:40 PMI've done the raid legit pretty much every time. I've cheesed the bridge a few times, buy never Crota. He's easy to beat if everyone does their job and listens. Recently though, I've begun skipping through Deathsinger, not because I can't do it, but because having to convince my team to do it for No rewards is a pain in the ass. Just give a loot drop off it and people would gladly deal with it. For those saying the Deathsinger is just like through Gorgons Maze and they didn't give rewards either, you are wrong. The spire formation Gives the first chest, the confluxes and oracles are pretty much the same part and you get rewards there. Then a boss fight with the Templar, again for rewards. Finally you get down to the maze, where three of the chests for the raid are contained. Thus rewarding you for not getting caught by Gorgons. Then of course Gatekeeper and Aetheon rewards. The Deathsinger is the Gatekeeper for Crota, So rewards there would make sense.
-
Chessing sucks. I have completed Crota' End many times and its very easy. You want to cheese it...fine. But if you do so it makes me think that you're lazy and/or unskilled. Also good luck when it gets patched. Legit players will have no issues since everything is practiced already
-
I empathize with your point, but sometimes I like receiving a slight reward in game for my efforts. If you are using lfg and running with an inexperienced crew most players want a payout and when ill-equipped the deathsinger phase is rough. There is no binding agreement in the game that requires players to complete it vs obtaining a checkpoint from others, that's why lfg and a gaming community are beneficial. I am glad you do not have a hard time with it but lower levels and those looking to obtain their first raid gear probably do not want the headache. Even in vog the gatekeeper had a payout for far less effort, why should the crota predecessor not have a payout when some are even receiving 2 shards for crota completion?
-
Not everyone who skips her lacks the ability to defeat her. Some people just don't feel like wasting their time for no reward whatsoever
-
Realistically: what is the point, every point you made can be used against your argument. I do it when I can because I find it fun, but I can see why people skip it: No reward, the fact that a team of mediocre players get nothing from this challenge at the expense of multiple wipes because a numb nuts kills himself and the group needs every gun they can muster. So why would they even attempt it when somebody can get a Crota checkpoint and they can fail miserably for a legitimate reward.
-
I solo her without any problem or glitch, because I tried and learned it...I'm ashamed of teams skipping her because they are not able to kill her legit. Why do they play this -blam!-ing game? What for? No accomplishments based on leveling up your skill? No "Yeeehaaaaw!"-moments? No competition? Obly for the loot to brag about? Lame as -blam!-...
-
I didn't even know you could skip/cheese Ir Yut, or did I interpret wrong?
-
Thing that sucks about it is that it's tedious. Kill the deathsinger and then spend 20 minutes cleaning up mobs for no reward
-
It's the same as skipping to oracle cp in the vault. Everyone did it. I've both done it and skipped it. Don't see the big deal.
-
Much like the rest of the raid this cp can be done by 1 or 2 people. My 2nd raid this week I killed both wizards and both shriekers myself and was working on the Deathsinger before anyone even knew the second wizard had gone down. Everyone else- "where the hell is the right side wizard?" Me- "Deathsinger is almost dead"
