If it's one thing I'm really looking forward to as I'm sure others are too, it's the soon to be released Necrochasm in the highly anticipated Hard mode of Crota's End Raid. I felt like it would be the perfect weapon for me, considering how I always wanted to see what a "fastest firing" auto rifle would be like if it were exotic. However, with the pre-evolutionary stages of the Necrochasm being well available for us to experience like the legendary Eidolon Ally... It doesn't seem to give us a whole lot of things to write home to mom about... While the statistical build of the Ally seems pretty solid for a blistering fast firing auto rifle with even more impact then others of its kind, it lacks other key elements that would make this weapon a more reliable option. Some of its smaller and expected weaknesses is a noticeable recoil and an average reload speed, while its biggest downfall would have to be its small magazine size of 42 rounds per mag. I understand that generally, 42 rounds is above average and is more then enough for weapons to pull off multiple kills in PvE and at least a couple in PvP before reloading... Unfortunately for the Ally, with its build focusing on spitting bullets and overwhelming you're target with fire rate, it's just not a substantial amount of rounds to keep in the heat of a gunfight... And when you add in the average reload and above average recoil, that downfall becomes more apparent. There are bonuses to remedy the recoil (fitted stock) and reload (flared magwell) but the ammo capacity is a lost cause... I'm not asking for a bonus to remedy it though, I believe the weapon just needs a buff to its mag size. Maybe 55 rounds or an even 60 for it to be able to hang in gunfights that require a bit more perseverance.
I understand that the Ally is not the Necrochasm YET, however I still believe it should have better stats as whose to say the Necrochasm's stats won't present the same weaknesses? Above average recoil, average reload speed, puny 42 round mag with a monstrous bullet expenditure... Yes the Necrochasm will boast a better bonus pool to choose from, but will it be enough to prove as a threat not just in PvE, but in PvP as well? If the Necrochasm is suppose to be to Crota's End Raid as the Mythoclast is to the Vault of Glass, then it should be a viable option for both realms, Vanguard and Crucible.
If the Ally gives us any representation of the soon to be Necrochasm, it's still usable, but it does present more hinderances then other weapon choices at this point in time. If there is one thing I love about its stats it is its increased Impact, but I feel like Bungie took away that added powers presence, by lowering its mag size and giving you a harder time staying on target with recoil that makes using your added impact more difficult. Not to forget sitting out of fights too long trying to refill again out of the thousands of times you will have to when using this weapon.
Please tell me what you think? I don't want this weapon to be OP like the original Mythoclast, but I want it to be a competitor like the rest of the exotics in most Scenarios due to it being the next, new, and hopefully best thing... I hope Bungie gives the Ally some love possibly (though I doubt it), but most of all that the Necrochasm gets a buff and does not suffer from these same abundant weakness...
Thanks for reading.

That magazine size is going to stop it from having amazing DPS for strike bosses and the like. It will still be great, superior even, but not the best, not nearly. Its exotic effect can be imitated by scout rifles and hand cannons. No, I think the starkest competition this thing will face is Bad Juju. It will be best resigned to clearing trash mobs. The Regime, Ice Breaker, Mythoclast, and Gjallarhorn's thrones will remain uncontested.
