How unbelievably naive. The reason no PR rep has commented on this staggeringly popular thread is because nobody would be happy to hear the truth from the developers themselves.
All the content thus released has been mostly locked on-disc. Same goes for House of Wolves. Can't datamine data that hasn't been published, and yet you can go to any reputable source and see the exotics, armor, and new Queen's Wrath gear thus far unreleased, as well as the Trials of Osiris rewards. Oh, and upgraded Vault of Glass armor, with different names.
There is an even harder version of the Vault yet to be released (or at least higher-leveled). Presumably, it is there that we will get this new Vault armor and the same weapons with higher attack caps (because why waste developer initiative on making something new when we could re-release something already made if that makes the players happy?).
Fatebringer et al will remain handy for Burn modifiers and just as good in the standard Crucible as they have always been. (Seriously, what's with the maniacal devotion to Fatebringer? It's alright.) It is very likely we will see them again, with higher attack caps, later. I wish we wouldn't though. I'd much rather see something new and different than a reskinned Regulator Mk 55.

If you think FateBringer is just 'alright' then you need to learn how to aim. Hit some headshots while a Zerg is chasing you down and tell me it's alright. Only gun in the game I found important enough to max out one for each character.

Virtually any scout rifle and hand cannon can spawn with Firefly. It's not unique. The only thing wonderful about Fatebringer is the arc damage, which granted, is great for nightfalls and the like but otherwise unimportant. Other hand cannons can have the same (or better) perks and the same (or better) stat blocks. It's great that you like it but it's not as specials as everyone seems to treat it.

Had tons of HCs and SRs with firefly. FateBringer's is much more powerful. Other ones just seem to bump the guys around the exploding guy. FB kills everything around it with a red tag. It's not a unique perk but there is something in the equations behind the perk that cause it to be devastating and unique to FB.
