Conundrum: If nothing is done, a large (and quite fun IMO) chunk of the game will fade into obscurity as there will be no real drive to run the VoG Raid any further. If ALL previous raid gear is brought to current legendary raid level it will remove much of the incentive to grind the new raid. Perhaps the solution should be a rare RNG drop at the completion of the new raid that would allow a person to upgrade a singular piece of old raid gear/raid weapon to the new level. Just a thought Bungie 😀

Level 32 VOG raid, 36 light armor, 331 weapons... CE is too short, and besides nostalgia, there is no real reason to run the best content in the game. I prefer running VOG much more than CE. And prefer the weapons/armor as well. With such little added content, and the fact that the dailies/weeklies are level 30, they should increase VOG difficulty and drop level as well. If there was a considerable amount of content added in the dlc, it would be different, but there isn't. I don't want to trade my stuff in for an upgrade, but I want the ability to earn it again.

I think you stated it perfectly. The only difference is: with the new raid, some people aren't even trying it get the old loot. Obviously, it's up to that person what they end up doing, but the Vault of Glass was my favorite experience with Destiny. I was finishing up Crota the other day, and I asked if anyone wanted to do the Vault. Two of them responded, "is it hard?" This killed me. The new raid is fun, don't get me wrong, but nothing compares to the first time atheon teleports you. I feel that if there was some way to upgrade guns past 300 (kind of like exotics with xur, or even the crux of crota with necrochasm) it would boost the incentive for newcomers to play the new raid. As for myself, I don't see myself letting go of VoC or Fate bringer anytime soon, and I would love it if they could be upgraded.

Vog is the best thing in destiny. I still love playing it, although many of the christmas noobs will not play it. I tried it for the first time at 26... Awesome experience! So difficult!

Anyone that has started the game since Crotas End has no reason to play the VoG, you can cheese the new raid in 30mins-1hr and buy better gear from the vendors.

Yup it just make vog useless even tho i think vog is more fun than crota
