Only barely, and as the level of the nightfall increases, they will become fully obsolete. Hence the reason for the "expiration date" comment.
Not to mention the fact that as the level of everything increases, why would you ever go back to do VoG? Guns aside, they have put an expiration date on their own content.

Edited by Mazerbeam: 1/6/2015 6:38:45 PMI'm not denying there is an expiration date. I'm in favor of it. Keeps content fresh. I still play VoG, not for loot but because it's fun to play with friends. If you really want to use VoG weapons, Bungie should make a level 32 VoG HM that has upgraded weapons (@m00ninite suggestion). Don't simply allow players to upgrade old weapons because the game is expanding.

Great, make the unending grind even longer than it already is. Can't wait, sounds like so much fun. #sarcasm

Since when is running a raid to get gear grinding? You're totally right though, we should just hand players whatever they want! Oh you know what would be great? If Bungie added micro-transactions too! Then I could get all the best gear with just a swipe of my card! No grinding for this guy!

Since you already did it, already got the gun after multiple tries, already ranked it up, already farmed all the materials and ascendents, and then a genius like you comes along and says, "Duuhhh, hey guys, i think we should have to do the same thing a hundred more times rather than move on with our lives and try something new". Since then dumbass, that's when it becomes grinding retard. It's the very god damn definition of grinding. And the fact that you don't understand that makes you a special kind of stupid. And WTF do micro transactions have to do with what I said? Other than you just being at the very bottom of the lowest common denominator in terms of intelligence and want to distract from the fact that you know your wrong and have nothing to say. Go away and stop embarrassing your species.
