in an RPG / MMO style... old weapons become fairly useless to give you incentive to go for new content. I was surprised they gave a way to bump exotics but im glad they made it intense to do... I really hope they never make vog weapons buffed. Farm your crucible and vanguard gear and wait for hard mode for more primaries.
