[You guys came up with so many great ideas. I really wish Bungie had a look at the comments here.]
Come on, Bungie, give us the freedom to choose whatever suits our style best and don't let those awesome weapons you've designed become obsolete. Actually, don't let the stunning Vault of Glass (best content in the game) be consumed by the darkness.
I believe that Raids and its weapons should always be the at level cap. More weapons to choose from, more content to play.
Weapons are mostly situational and mixing them is part of a successful strategy (it's fun too). Having more to choose from just add to the game.
Edit: I'm not suggesting to automatically turn them into 331 attack weapons. Just give us a way to upgrade them to the current attack cap. I bet you guys can implement it in a sensible way.
Why would we go against the idea of having more relevant weapons at our disposal? It's like saying "I'd rather have less weapons, less content". Let's not be passively attached to an old format. Destiny is something new with immense potential.

Some great comments Bungie should pay some attention to:

"But what they decide to do with VOG weapons speaks to the future of the current raid weapons as well. Right now, there is an expiration date on my Fatebringer and that sucks, supremely, but now that same feeling isn't too far for my Black Hammer either. I'd like to carry these weapons with me as long as I am playing Destiny. Yeah, future weapons maybe better and I end up scraping these guns one day but I'd like to be able to decide for myself versus having no choice in the matter. Just my take on the situation".

"The problem lies within the way they have designed the upgrading system. They are going to have to re work how you upgrade weapons and armor. Yeah they could just update the VOC gear up to 32 and 331 but what happens when the House of Wolves comes out? Then they are going to have to update both Dark Below and VOC all over again the prevent them from being obsolete. They need to just make it were the players can choose the path they want to take. You choose what armor and weapons you want to upgrade to the highest rank. I mean make it a difficult task. I wouldn't mind the challenge and it would inspire players to be more creative with their characters rather than every single person wearing the same gear".

"Upgrading older legendary weapons could finally give a use for the Gunsmith beyond buying ammo and weapons at a low level. Not to mention it would help provide a larger variety of "good" weapons so that we would have more things to work towards. After all the various DLC's are done, just imagine how varied the weapon and armor selection would be. (Speaking of which, vendors should be able to upgrade armor as well.)"

I think there should be a rare item drop on the raids that can be used on old gear to bump it to the next grade. To me it's a win/win Bungie gets its grind out of us and we get to carry older gear longer.

Those weapons will always be good in the crucible

as much as I love my VOC, fatebringer, Hezen, and espcially CM. I'll be just as excited for new weapons. They still kick some tail now and will since radiant engeries drop so sparringly. That' why the vault need to be bigger so you can hang onto your favorites. Always still good for those nightfall burn's.

It would be nice to have all legendary items upgraded

Not gonna happen I'd like it to But it won't

I would have to disagree with you. In the same reason that it would defeat the purpose of gear progression. If that's the case, then let's have the starting rife be able to level up to 331 damage as well. If you could keep the same weapons from expansion to expansion, what is the point in creating new weapons at all. It is a progressive game with new gear with each expansion. This is not just a shooter. The guns will become outdated as time moves on. I love my Fatebringer and VOC, but you must eventually put them aside in place of newer gear at some point. This game has some mmorpg aspects, constantly changing tiers of gear is one of them. Everyone is going to have to accept this at some point and just learn to use the new weapons to their full potential.

I think vanguard gear should be 27. Vog gear 30 then crota 32. A lot of new players won't experience vog and at this rate many more won't experience crota when the next expansion comes.

Sometimes I take a dump. In this case I'll bump.

I think Raid weps and exotics should be upgradeable as the game progresses. It would not be feasible for them to make all weps upgradeable to the current damage cap, BUT.....making this small group of weps upgradeable, isnt asking a lot.
-
for sure. There's no way vendor weapons should have higher attack values.
-
no. stopp. vog weapons are fine where they at
-
i too would like to see these weapons have the possibility to be upgraded in the future.

You guys are still trying to get this bs to go lol

Edited by Rogue: 1/6/2015 7:31:53 PMJust a thought, but what if they increased the level requirement or added a "normal" 30 and "hard" 32 VoG so the 2.0 VoG weapons and armor would drop? With the new vendor gear, it's rather easy for newer players to reach level 30, so I don't think increasing the level would do too much. Or if that's not wanted, simply adding in a "normal" level 30 VoG and a "hard" level 32 VoG on top of the originals could work as well (there would be the "problem" of the earlier VoG gear potentially making it easy though).
