[You guys came up with so many great ideas. I really wish Bungie had a look at the comments here.]
Come on, Bungie, give us the freedom to choose whatever suits our style best and don't let those awesome weapons you've designed become obsolete. Actually, don't let the stunning Vault of Glass (best content in the game) be consumed by the darkness.
I believe that Raids and its weapons should always be the at level cap. More weapons to choose from, more content to play.
Weapons are mostly situational and mixing them is part of a successful strategy (it's fun too). Having more to choose from just add to the game.
Edit: I'm not suggesting to automatically turn them into 331 attack weapons. Just give us a way to upgrade them to the current attack cap. I bet you guys can implement it in a sensible way.
Why would we go against the idea of having more relevant weapons at our disposal? It's like saying "I'd rather have less weapons, less content". Let's not be passively attached to an old format. Destiny is something new with immense potential.

Some great comments Bungie should pay some attention to:

"But what they decide to do with VOG weapons speaks to the future of the current raid weapons as well. Right now, there is an expiration date on my Fatebringer and that sucks, supremely, but now that same feeling isn't too far for my Black Hammer either. I'd like to carry these weapons with me as long as I am playing Destiny. Yeah, future weapons maybe better and I end up scraping these guns one day but I'd like to be able to decide for myself versus having no choice in the matter. Just my take on the situation".

"The problem lies within the way they have designed the upgrading system. They are going to have to re work how you upgrade weapons and armor. Yeah they could just update the VOC gear up to 32 and 331 but what happens when the House of Wolves comes out? Then they are going to have to update both Dark Below and VOC all over again the prevent them from being obsolete. They need to just make it were the players can choose the path they want to take. You choose what armor and weapons you want to upgrade to the highest rank. I mean make it a difficult task. I wouldn't mind the challenge and it would inspire players to be more creative with their characters rather than every single person wearing the same gear".

"Upgrading older legendary weapons could finally give a use for the Gunsmith beyond buying ammo and weapons at a low level. Not to mention it would help provide a larger variety of "good" weapons so that we would have more things to work towards. After all the various DLC's are done, just imagine how varied the weapon and armor selection would be. (Speaking of which, vendors should be able to upgrade armor as well.)"

People making the comparison between wow expansions and these doesn't seem to understand one important concept. Wow has a ton of content and a lot of high level gear sets. This game has 1. I don't care if I have to run through them again and get the drop to get the new weapons at the new level. There isn't enough content and there is no incentive to do old raids anymore. If destiny had more content this wouldn't be a conversation, but as it stands the one raid isn't enough especially since there is no pvp gear to get to 32 as well. I don't want to look like everybody else and there is really no way to avoid that unless there is a transmog for old gear. I would say keep upgrading the raids until there are 4 or 5. Then just keep the last two active.

Edited by Danny staBB : 2/1/2015 5:00:15 PMBump. The less options they give us the more we all look like clones. All using the same gear, all using the same weapons, all using the same shadders.

Bump make it trending again!
-
Bump for VoC and fatebringer love. Please don't let these great weapons that You created get pushed back to the wayside and dismantled, Bungie.
-
VOC all day
-
At least bring it back as an exotic it definitely can hold the title as one It's my favorite primary
-
-
Bump for weapons. 31 (1 level below the new max) for gear to keep new raids relevant as well.
-
VoC needs that buff
-
Create a VOG level 32 version
-
I agree. Not everybody buys dlc's yet they practically force you to buy them. By making the VoG obsolete it makes all that hard work go to waste. They make it to where you have to buy the dlc just to ENJOY the game because you can't do freakin anything without it! I hate this because other games like halo, cod, etc. actually don't force you to but the dlc and still give you the ability to enjoy the game. It's all Bungies way of forcing us to pay them more money.

Yes do it.
-
This would be really cool but I can't see them doing it. I just retired my fatebringer for a badger with the firefly perk.
-
Bump the damage BUNGIEEEEEEE
-
If they won't upgrade VoG weapons, come up with similar weapons of the same stats , etc. I.e. Atheons Epilogue - rename it, redesign it, whatever. But throw in something similar to replace it and it's purpose.

http://youtu.be/B3I5vz3-Ghc This seems to be going round right now. Gamerfuzion vid of someone with light level 34 VoG pieces
-
NAH. Vote down. My warglaives never got upgraded in the newer world of Warcraft expansions. Because it's an older raid. why would bungie even think about doing this? They're will be more raids in the future and newer guns. Stop getting so emotionally attached to old raid weapons.

Bump nedd a 331 VOC and Fatebringer have the 300 versions but just not the same :/
-
BUMP - i love my VOC! Would be great to keep it with me through out! Never got fatebringer tho
-
-
True bump!
-
They won't update vog stuff, however they did say for HoW that they wouldn't make it so crota gear is useless like last time.
-
Maybe they can add a drop to the VOG on hard, something that you have to obtain to be able to upgrade the weapons
-
Still waiting for this!
-
They should give us an option to dismantled VoG gear and weapon for radiant material too
