[You guys came up with so many great ideas. I really wish Bungie had a look at the comments here.]
Come on, Bungie, give us the freedom to choose whatever suits our style best and don't let those awesome weapons you've designed become obsolete. Actually, don't let the stunning Vault of Glass (best content in the game) be consumed by the darkness.
I believe that Raids and its weapons should always be the at level cap. More weapons to choose from, more content to play.
Weapons are mostly situational and mixing them is part of a successful strategy (it's fun too). Having more to choose from just add to the game.
Edit: I'm not suggesting to automatically turn them into 331 attack weapons. Just give us a way to upgrade them to the current attack cap. I bet you guys can implement it in a sensible way.
Why would we go against the idea of having more relevant weapons at our disposal? It's like saying "I'd rather have less weapons, less content". Let's not be passively attached to an old format. Destiny is something new with immense potential.

Some great comments Bungie should pay some attention to:

"But what they decide to do with VOG weapons speaks to the future of the current raid weapons as well. Right now, there is an expiration date on my Fatebringer and that sucks, supremely, but now that same feeling isn't too far for my Black Hammer either. I'd like to carry these weapons with me as long as I am playing Destiny. Yeah, future weapons maybe better and I end up scraping these guns one day but I'd like to be able to decide for myself versus having no choice in the matter. Just my take on the situation".

"The problem lies within the way they have designed the upgrading system. They are going to have to re work how you upgrade weapons and armor. Yeah they could just update the VOC gear up to 32 and 331 but what happens when the House of Wolves comes out? Then they are going to have to update both Dark Below and VOC all over again the prevent them from being obsolete. They need to just make it were the players can choose the path they want to take. You choose what armor and weapons you want to upgrade to the highest rank. I mean make it a difficult task. I wouldn't mind the challenge and it would inspire players to be more creative with their characters rather than every single person wearing the same gear".

"Upgrading older legendary weapons could finally give a use for the Gunsmith beyond buying ammo and weapons at a low level. Not to mention it would help provide a larger variety of "good" weapons so that we would have more things to work towards. After all the various DLC's are done, just imagine how varied the weapon and armor selection would be. (Speaking of which, vendors should be able to upgrade armor as well.)"

Edited by Checker-3: 1/7/2015 1:31:06 AMDear, @DeeJ "Please let this be known to whomever it may concern." Why in the -blam- is this not implemented in the game? *The gunsmith is utterly USELESS except for ammo synthesis! *Once you get raid armor/weapons the Vanguard/Crucible Marks become USELESS... "Which in Crotas End happens in no time!" *Christmas noobs can use Vanguard marks, buy gear and get to 31 without even setting foot in the Vault of Glass, and the only gear you get from there is less in every aspect due to the new raid. So most now decline to even do the raid deeming it USELESS. *There seems to be a balancing issue going on here. Either the new Vanguard, and other factions gear needs to be locked until level 30. Or the VOG needs a Hard(er)mode which allows the players to earn one updated version of gear upon completion. *I still can't figure out why the new Vanguard/Crucible e.t.c gear better than the VOG gear? Please elaborate why it is now be all means USELESS? *One last thing... Everyone agrees upon lack of some type of content... We have content... "of a sort" ...right here in front of everyone, yet it is deemed USELESS to a point. This needs to be done, this is not a nerf, this is not a suggestion of pure imagination, this is not another troll post on this forum. Do you want Destiny 2 to fall flat? There will not be record breaking sales with the second in the series with this track record so far. Fix what you have, update what you have, and remember change is a good thing. Ask us, the community with weekly polls and such and you will have a successful franchise. Look not at what we might want in a game but what we need in this game to make it a game worth dropping more money into and worth spending countless hours into much as I have. *To brighter days ahead guardians! Sincerely, J.E.A.P

I've never run any of the raids. :( However, I believe your argument has merit. BUMP!

I agree all VOG weapons and armor should be at the current level cap.

Edited by VaIor: 1/7/2015 7:35:47 AMI hope VOG weapons will see an update to 331, and that the gear will go to 31. It would give players an option other than vanguard gear to prepare for TDB. As it stands VOG is mostly irrelevant. This game has been driven and progressed very poorly and I don't understand why. Anyway I don't really play destiny all that much anymore. I was a first week legit TDB completionist, and have since killed crota a few times. I was doing VOG start to finish on hard mode every week before the expansion and have yet to step back in after the patch. Kinda miss it, but feel cheated that all that time and effort invested was kinda wasted other than the entertainment I derived from it.

Why don't you have a "vote" widget? It's very easy, and would simplify the issue. Bungie might be too busy to read hundreds of opinions, but they could look at a vote quickly and help thier decision.

I think the star weapons of the raid (vex, necro, etc.) Should always be higher damage than other. They are trophy weapons. They should be treated like it.

Letting us keep up our favourite weapons relevant is in line with the lore of the game. What was thorn, the last word etc before the became stuff of legend? Just guns. We will become legends through our deeds and tales of our fears with XYZ gun will be told though out the ages. Apart from the fact the won't because for some reason the bullets they fire become less effective over time because reasons and everybody has to be the same. There literally isn't any reason at all why they can't introduce a lv32 VOG with 331 weapons.

Just to help a bit, this is my list of corrections to add.
