[You guys came up with so many great ideas. I really wish Bungie had a look at the comments here.]
Come on, Bungie, give us the freedom to choose whatever suits our style best and don't let those awesome weapons you've designed become obsolete. Actually, don't let the stunning Vault of Glass (best content in the game) be consumed by the darkness.
I believe that Raids and its weapons should always be the at level cap. More weapons to choose from, more content to play.
Weapons are mostly situational and mixing them is part of a successful strategy (it's fun too). Having more to choose from just add to the game.
Edit: I'm not suggesting to automatically turn them into 331 attack weapons. Just give us a way to upgrade them to the current attack cap. I bet you guys can implement it in a sensible way.
Why would we go against the idea of having more relevant weapons at our disposal? It's like saying "I'd rather have less weapons, less content". Let's not be passively attached to an old format. Destiny is something new with immense potential.

Some great comments Bungie should pay some attention to:

"But what they decide to do with VOG weapons speaks to the future of the current raid weapons as well. Right now, there is an expiration date on my Fatebringer and that sucks, supremely, but now that same feeling isn't too far for my Black Hammer either. I'd like to carry these weapons with me as long as I am playing Destiny. Yeah, future weapons maybe better and I end up scraping these guns one day but I'd like to be able to decide for myself versus having no choice in the matter. Just my take on the situation".

"The problem lies within the way they have designed the upgrading system. They are going to have to re work how you upgrade weapons and armor. Yeah they could just update the VOC gear up to 32 and 331 but what happens when the House of Wolves comes out? Then they are going to have to update both Dark Below and VOC all over again the prevent them from being obsolete. They need to just make it were the players can choose the path they want to take. You choose what armor and weapons you want to upgrade to the highest rank. I mean make it a difficult task. I wouldn't mind the challenge and it would inspire players to be more creative with their characters rather than every single person wearing the same gear".

"Upgrading older legendary weapons could finally give a use for the Gunsmith beyond buying ammo and weapons at a low level. Not to mention it would help provide a larger variety of "good" weapons so that we would have more things to work towards. After all the various DLC's are done, just imagine how varied the weapon and armor selection would be. (Speaking of which, vendors should be able to upgrade armor as well.)"

Yes sir, the community needs this,or we end up with oblosete content over and over with each expansion.I remeber a lvl 31 Vog was promised before the first dlc was even out,no sign so far.A 323 Fatebringer would be fun even in House of wolves,300 and it stays in everyones vault as a relic of the past

Edited by bagoftrix: 1/7/2015 7:34:29 AMEither this or make better ones and these truly obsolete... But as long as the best legendary scout and handcannon are still from VoG, upgrade 'm!

I wanted to be able to upgrade fatebringer, but then hawkmoon came into my life. Honestly this gun is so dang fun to use and I haven't even gotten it upgraded

Edited by SaQofNutZ: 1/7/2015 8:13:45 AMYou work hard in any rpg type game to get what you get. They have to leave old content old content. Quit crying that you have to work to get new upgraded gear. All everyone wants is hand outs. I do feel vanguard gear should only get you to 30 so people will do vog for shards and gear to get to 30 quicker then only getting vanguard gear.

Lel so true
-
I think the only fair way to implement this would be release another levelled version of vog. If you allowed the gear to be simply upgraded at the the tower then any new players or existing players making new chars would just level their basic vog gear and skip tonnes of content. Why not just make the 'very hard' version of vog and allow people to pick up the new and improved weapons and raid armour?
-
It's another way for people to buy the DLC. Since VOG was before the DLC, it will probably always have 300 lvl cap.
-
Or at least add radiant materials to vog
-
bump, make level 33 version of VoG

Edited by Why1sTheRumGone: 1/7/2015 8:16:53 AMideally in the end i want 1 piece of gear from all of my accomplishments to be relevant!! ( guess i have to be happy with queens ship, iron banner shader, vog class item, all kinda irrelevent) i vote for a new harder mode lvl 33 Vault of Glass(rewards to keep up), so that this epic standard setting raid doesnt fade into the darkness!!! a standard Crotas End comes no where near, its rather short and sort of pathetic, with the exception of the start, till end of lamps, then that tiny section involved with getting the 2nd chest, other than that,.. personal preferance,..Lame, that being said, anyone who isnt good at maths should realise that if this poll gets 10,000 likes,.. thats 10 in every 12,000 people roughly being represented, i rather doubt they care! sorry guardians, awesome game, awesome potential, useless puppet masters
-
Disagree. I wonder how many people here are Christmas newbs... I wonder how many people here dont have Crota expac... Look at the telemetries Bungie be4 doing anything. Move on people. 331 weps are at the tower from vendors and exotics are 331 and new raid weps are 331 jeez get over the Vault weps. All the primarys with void/arc/solar are still awesome for nightfall burns so look at it that way - use them for nightfalls and use 331 weps for new content.
-
Bump #deej #bungie Implement this.
-
Only problem I see with this is the hard mode for crotas end the reason most people are looking forward to it is to get the new primaries that have elemental damage if they boosted vog weapons to 331 it would make crotas end primaries irrelevant which would make crotas end dead content
-
Biggest problem with this entire idea is the fact that there is one key element that separates Destiny from other FPS-type games. That element is the "gotta catch em all" factor. Let's face it, most people don't run the raid because they think it's great fun. If they did then everyone wouldn't be trying to figure out ways to cheese. The real driving factor in playing this is the same reason that people used to play Pokemon games, item collecting and bragging rights. If they didn't replace the old standard quo (VoG items) with a new standard with expansions then they would lose that factor and the game itself would lose a large part of why people enjoy it. If VoG weapons where upgraded to be as good as Crota's, why bother trying to get Crotas and HoW in turn?
-
The problem lies within the way they have designed the upgrading system. Edited by Checker-3: 1/7/2015 1:31:06 AMDear, @DeeJ "Please let this be known to whomever it may concern." Why in the -blam- is this not implemented in the game? *The gunsmith is utterly USELESS except for ammo synthesis! *Once you get raid armor/weapons the Vanguard/Crucible Marks become USELESS... "Which in Crotas End happens in no time!" *Christmas noobs can use Vanguard marks, buy gear and get to 31 without even setting foot in the Vault of Glass, and the only gear you get from there is less in every aspect due to the new raid. So most now decline to even do the raid deeming it USELESS. *There seems to be a balancing issue going on here. Either the new Vanguard, and other factions gear needs to be locked until level 30. Or the VOG needs a Hard(er)mode which allows the players to earn one updated version of gear upon completion. *I still can't figure out why the new Vanguard/Crucible e.t.c gear better than the VOG gear? Please elaborate why it is now be all means USELESS? *One last thing... Everyone agrees upon lack of some type of content... We have content... "of a sort" ...right here in front of everyone, yet it is deemed USELESS to a point. This needs to be done, this is not a nerf, this is not a suggestion of pure imagination, this is not another troll post on this forum. Do you want Destiny 2 to fall flat? There will not be record breaking sales with the second in the series with this track record so far. Fix what you have, update what you have, and remember change is a good thing. Ask us, the community with weekly polls and such and you will have a successful franchise. Look not at what we might want in a game but what we need in this game to make it a game worth dropping more money into and worth spending countless hours into much as I have. *To brighter days ahead guardians! Sincerely, J.E.A.P
