[You guys came up with so many great ideas. I really wish Bungie had a look at the comments here.]
Come on, Bungie, give us the freedom to choose whatever suits our style best and don't let those awesome weapons you've designed become obsolete. Actually, don't let the stunning Vault of Glass (best content in the game) be consumed by the darkness.
I believe that Raids and its weapons should always be the at level cap. More weapons to choose from, more content to play.
Weapons are mostly situational and mixing them is part of a successful strategy (it's fun too). Having more to choose from just add to the game.
Edit: I'm not suggesting to automatically turn them into 331 attack weapons. Just give us a way to upgrade them to the current attack cap. I bet you guys can implement it in a sensible way.
Why would we go against the idea of having more relevant weapons at our disposal? It's like saying "I'd rather have less weapons, less content". Let's not be passively attached to an old format. Destiny is something new with immense potential.

Some great comments Bungie should pay some attention to:

"But what they decide to do with VOG weapons speaks to the future of the current raid weapons as well. Right now, there is an expiration date on my Fatebringer and that sucks, supremely, but now that same feeling isn't too far for my Black Hammer either. I'd like to carry these weapons with me as long as I am playing Destiny. Yeah, future weapons maybe better and I end up scraping these guns one day but I'd like to be able to decide for myself versus having no choice in the matter. Just my take on the situation".

"The problem lies within the way they have designed the upgrading system. They are going to have to re work how you upgrade weapons and armor. Yeah they could just update the VOC gear up to 32 and 331 but what happens when the House of Wolves comes out? Then they are going to have to update both Dark Below and VOC all over again the prevent them from being obsolete. They need to just make it were the players can choose the path they want to take. You choose what armor and weapons you want to upgrade to the highest rank. I mean make it a difficult task. I wouldn't mind the challenge and it would inspire players to be more creative with their characters rather than every single person wearing the same gear".

"Upgrading older legendary weapons could finally give a use for the Gunsmith beyond buying ammo and weapons at a low level. Not to mention it would help provide a larger variety of "good" weapons so that we would have more things to work towards. After all the various DLC's are done, just imagine how varied the weapon and armor selection would be. (Speaking of which, vendors should be able to upgrade armor as well.)"

I think Bungie wants to enforce the Raids since it's really the only way to get primary element damage weapons. And you have to invest in the dlc. I don't mind swapping out Raid gear. But it would be nice to have a comparable weapon to Fatebringer in the bunch.
-
We won't be able to bring them with us forever though
-
Mythoclast stupid auto correct
-
They should make them like mythic last at 323 at least
-
As much as I love my Fatebringer, I realize there will and should inevitably be a time when it has to be placed in retirement. This can be said for several raid weapons. Otherwise, gameplay will never change and will become stale.
-
I disagree. Let's be honest, unless they make a hand cannon called God that shoots rockets and with tracking missiles that one hit kill everything on the map, nothing is going to beat fatebringer. If it were the same damage as every other raid weapon of sed current raid, there would be no more insentive to go for new raid weapons. Same applies to vision of confluence, black hammer, hunger of crota, and corrective measure
-
I don't agree I don't want Fatebringer to still be one of the best when were 4 DLCs into the game, I like the idea of new weapons taking there place.
-
I agree Also, i have a queens wrath sniper thatd id loooove to be able to get to 331 and w/e HoW is id like to see all armor and weapons be upgradable Id say like 7k and a new thing like an exotic shard, instead of resetting xp cuz that puts me in a pickle of if its even worth upgradin guns before HoW Much rather need a new how to up a fully uppd 331 weapon to the new damage lvl (365?)

The answer is simple, this game has so so so so much potential but the employees at Bungie haven't done anything to live up to it's promising future. I see phenomenal posts everyday on this forum from players with great ideas that could be implemented into the game and nobody seems to care. Most of these kids work a 9 to 5 getting paid 9.50 an hour with real development talent. It's sad that even my post right now will be irrelevant, because this small community is just a reflection of our world. Bungie, reach out to these kids and help them help you. Peace and love.

Edited by TRUMERICAN: 4/2/2015 2:36:48 AMNo because if we do that then we won't HAVE to buy the DLCs to be on the same level as everyone else.
hint of sarcasm (for those of you that are too dumb)
-
Yeah. I don't know if this is a solution, but why make all the pre dlc weapons weaker? It just seems hideous.
-
It's simple, just use the same setup as CE. A Lvl 31 VOG that gives 331 specials and heavys. Then a Lvl 33 VOG that gives the 331 primaries.
-
VOG weapons are technically stuck in time, that's why the vex won't change and neither will the weapons
-
Fatebringer is like the best raid hand cannon it should be buffed

Signed.

Irrelevant comments shouldn't be rendered.

They still aren't irrelevant because they drop exotics which most people need still. But I do want the 331 raid weapons, I do believe however they are working on getting this in the future
-
Raid weapons should at least be bumped to one attack level lower than the current newest raid. Ex: When HoW comes out, VOG weapons bump up to 331 to be on par with Crota weapons, but only the HoW raid weapons go to 365. When comet comes out with a new raid, VoG, CE, and HoW raid weapons all top out at 365, comet raid weapons max at whatever the new attack cap will be then. 380-ish.
-
Blorp.
-
Weaponry should not be below 331 it's ridiculous
