[You guys came up with so many great ideas. I really wish Bungie had a look at the comments here.]
Come on, Bungie, give us the freedom to choose whatever suits our style best and don't let those awesome weapons you've designed become obsolete. Actually, don't let the stunning Vault of Glass (best content in the game) be consumed by the darkness.
I believe that Raids and its weapons should always be the at level cap. More weapons to choose from, more content to play.
Weapons are mostly situational and mixing them is part of a successful strategy (it's fun too). Having more to choose from just add to the game.
Edit: I'm not suggesting to automatically turn them into 331 attack weapons. Just give us a way to upgrade them to the current attack cap. I bet you guys can implement it in a sensible way.
Why would we go against the idea of having more relevant weapons at our disposal? It's like saying "I'd rather have less weapons, less content". Let's not be passively attached to an old format. Destiny is something new with immense potential.

Some great comments Bungie should pay some attention to:

"But what they decide to do with VOG weapons speaks to the future of the current raid weapons as well. Right now, there is an expiration date on my Fatebringer and that sucks, supremely, but now that same feeling isn't too far for my Black Hammer either. I'd like to carry these weapons with me as long as I am playing Destiny. Yeah, future weapons maybe better and I end up scraping these guns one day but I'd like to be able to decide for myself versus having no choice in the matter. Just my take on the situation".

"The problem lies within the way they have designed the upgrading system. They are going to have to re work how you upgrade weapons and armor. Yeah they could just update the VOC gear up to 32 and 331 but what happens when the House of Wolves comes out? Then they are going to have to update both Dark Below and VOC all over again the prevent them from being obsolete. They need to just make it were the players can choose the path they want to take. You choose what armor and weapons you want to upgrade to the highest rank. I mean make it a difficult task. I wouldn't mind the challenge and it would inspire players to be more creative with their characters rather than every single person wearing the same gear".

"Upgrading older legendary weapons could finally give a use for the Gunsmith beyond buying ammo and weapons at a low level. Not to mention it would help provide a larger variety of "good" weapons so that we would have more things to work towards. After all the various DLC's are done, just imagine how varied the weapon and armor selection would be. (Speaking of which, vendors should be able to upgrade armor as well.)"

Bump. Some weeks/month ago I really liked all the new updates and i felt like this game was heading in the right direction. It felt like it was evolving. Then it kinda stopped with implementing new things. I feel like bungie could do alot more than fixing cheeses and I hope they will continue on the right path again because we seriously need some vital things added.( vault space and more character customization are my most wanted ones) Still addicted to this game and having fun. just my thoughts.

Hell yeah I want a 331 fatebringer

I disagree raid weapons should stay as they are.

Edited by XsirMajesticX: 1/15/2015 8:13:17 AManother of these petitions, the only mistake bungie made with the raid was having vendors sell gear better than VoG gear, thats why VoG is irrelevant cause you dont need it to do crota's end. you should have to do VoG to get gear to be high enough level to do crota. these weapon polls are stupid. yes i love my VoC and my god i love fatebringer, but you have to deal with the fact that this is how any rpg, any mmo, any game of this type works, gear gets replaced by new gear all the time deal with it. Its an FPS in the mould of an RPG and as such you progress through dungeons, raids, looting whatever way it is gear gets replaced by higher tiers all the time as you progress through higher tier raids. VoG gear is tied to VoG, now there is a higher tier raid and with that higher tier weapons and armor. you might have well have no progression at all and let us keep the whites we had at the start of the game.

Edited by Ve7n00m: 1/15/2015 8:29:11 AMThey could add Shards to VOG, to each boss that drops a weapon. So for instance the Templar would drop a shard of the Templar, having 3 of these would allow you to take a weapon that the Templar drops to the gunsmith to upgrade it's damage. 3 Shards for 1 upgrade slot but they SHOULDN'T be RNG, the Templar should drop one shard after each kill. That way with 3 characters you could upgraded 1 damage upgrade slot per week.

Edited by Lid the Impaler: 1/15/2015 9:04:15 AMConsidering these guns are harder to achieve than a Gjallahorn and Icebreaker (Both lucky drops) it's an absolute must that we are able to upgrade these to make them worthwhile using moving forwards. I know people will Say Gjallahorn is harder to achieve but you don't really achieve them as a reward, if you are lucky you are gifted them and they still dont make you good! Give us something back bungie rather than just a poor RNG system and glitchy raids!` Oh and take the old ascendant shards off of the nightfall, if Vog weapons and armor are going to be obsolete stop giving me Old Shards for one of the biggest challenges in the game 9 Ascendant shards to go to my pile of 78 that I wouldn't of bothered using anyway!

Only of there is a 33 VoG we must clear. Only if they fix every cheese, and yes I mean staying up top for Oracles/Templar. Only if they fix the bigs and Minotaurs gaining health. If this is done, I'm in favor.

I just think the raid helms should keep up with new levels
-
The new raid primaries will be up to par, why make one raid relevant while making the other irrelevant? Logic.
-
Hey you idiot do you not read anything? They already said they are going to buff VOG guns.

Boohoo

I too want it but let it go, man. VOG weapons are like a girlfriend that just doesn't want to be with you any more. Dismantle them, get it over quick and find a new sexy weapon to play with. You'll be able to play with Crota's hard end soon
-
It's the lowest tier raid. Let it go.

Holy crap, give up already and move on. The game has...
